ACDelco Rotors Rough Finish?

This is my first post, so please be gentle.

I was at the track recently with my '18 SS 1LE and I did a dumb. I track the car pretty regularly and I knew my front brake pads were getting thin, but I wanted to get every bit of life out them that I could. Because, you know, $$$. During my third session of the day, I ended up burning through the remaining pad material and ruining my rotors... So, instead of being frugal, I cost myself even more money by needing new rotors.

I still run the factory Brembo rotors and pads as I have found them to be pretty effective. When the ACDelco-branded OEM replacements arrived, I was surprised to see that the rotor faces are not smooth. They have a slightly coarse, dull matte grey appearance. I expected a "silvery" smooth finish.

Do the ACDelco rotors ship unfinished? Do they need to be turned or surfaced before installation?

I tried searching for the information but couldn't find anything. Maybe the answer is just obvious to everyone else?

Exactly how they are supposed to be.

That's exactly what they look like. So no further action needed? Just mount them up?

Correct. The coating will be rubbed off by the pad.

Yes - this is the new anti-rust coating. First drive will remove the coating.

No need to use brake cleaner either, I believe, but I give it a quick spritz anyway to get my greasy fingerprints off.

Thank you. I just wanted to be sure before I bolted it together and ruined some brand new stuff.

Happy motoring!

Be sure to bed in / burnish the new pads and rotors. The procedure is in the owners manual
