2021 2SS 1LE FBO

So, I had a FBO installed on my Camaro. After the shop installed the parts on 91 octane it only gained 9hp and with E85 and additional 31hp for a total of 40hp.The Dyno numbers said. The part I'm questioning is the 9hp on the mods alone that don't sound right. I had a cat back MBRP race edition exhaust installed before the mods so when they installed the long tube headers they said they weren't a muffler shop and didn't have the equipment to install the exhaust back on so it was dyno tuned with open headers. From other posts I've read here these numbers have to ne totally wrong right??

Parts I had installed:
Roto Fab CAI
speed engineering 2" LT header
GPI ported LT2 Intake
GPI ported Katech LT5 95mm TB
ATI pulley
DSX Flex fuel kit
Mighty Mouse catch can

Run 1 on dyno was before mods
Run 3 was after mods (91)
Run 9 w/ E85

You are an M6? I am too, and with a Rotofab cai and Kooks 1 7/8'' longtubes I was 447 whp, 93 octane.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think with your mods and on E, you should be over 500 pretty easily?

And wtf they say they can't put your exhaust back on because they aren't an exhaust shop, then proceed to tune your car with open headers? I'd say that's a problem... If it were me I would not accept that. And I think that may be half of your problem, tuning with open headers. But there are a lot of people on this forum with a lot of knowledge, hopefully they'll correct me if I'm wrong.

Sounds like you need to run away from that shop and run fast. Thats a huge red flag to me.

If your shop can install headers, they can install an exhaust. Scary that they tuned the car too.

yes sir m6.

I was expecting around a 80hp gain with all that I added. I emailed him about the numbers and he said its a pretty good pick up. I had done my research on here when I put it together and I was like hell no! 9hp is not right. I know this place is well know for tuning which is I went there.
I will say once I got my exhaust buttoned up I felt a lot more power

since we have a similar set up what exhaust are you running? I need something new mine is way to loud when open it up

I actually did email him about it and he said those number were pretty on point for what I did. I was not satisfied with that anser specially after seeing others numbers on here with the similar set up I had to come here to question it. I mean 9hp I should have got that alone with my CAI. I do know it was hot as fuk out there. I believe he said it was over 100 out there.

Maybe off my hinges but those numbers don’t look too shabby. I went 480hp and 463tq on e48 and I have the same mods as you but with a very ported MSD and no balancer. I personally don’t thing the LT2 is all that it’s cracked up to be.

You could run it on another dyno just for funsies

Maybe a different tune from a different tuner would make a difference?

What was your E content? You're not that far off. I would expect you to dyno around 480.

RD performance is pretty chill. He's in Ontario maybe he can take a look at it. I have similar mods and dyno was at 490 in 100 degree weather
