Where I was grew up “redeye” was any flight that landed in the middle of the night or too early in the morning for rational humans. Like “I’m comin’ in on the redeye from LA”. Brown-eye was the other one you described.

Yes, in later years, when late night flights became a thing, the term redeye was (and still is, I think) applied.

Brown-eye was, as you say, another euphemism for butthole.

However, I do recall clearly from my childhood that redeye was also used. Perhaps it was regional slang and not something that made it to your neck of the woods?

Red-eye was any cheap booze you could get to help stay in a drunken haze...lol...

If your eyes were red, likely you were intoxicated...lol

I could see a brown eye quickly turning into a red eye if you ate too much Taco Bell. Similarly, that new Challenger redeye rushes out pretty quickly but control isn't guaranteed.

Although I hate to admit such, a Google search suggests you are all correct.

And the bad thing is, none of the meanings would seem to be a flattering reference to a model of a high performance automobile.

I love Taco Bell! It's the only fast food I will eat.

This somewhat shocked me, the A10 SS and V-6 get slightly worse fuel economy in the City

Torque converter slip and more gears to rev through for the A10, and more right foot input for the V6 to get things moving are my internet engineering guesses.
