SS clutch noise when shifting low gears.
When Pressing the clutch to shift going 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd at low rpms; A loud clunking noise occurs. It is intermittent... sounds like metal to metal and does not seem normal. i saw a thread on this in the past with no resolution. Did anyone have this problem and get it resolved?

Take a video. That will be your best bet, hearing it helps...
You sure it's not typical clutch chatter? Are you letting the clutch up fast enough? |

I have the exact same issue on my 2017 and just made an appointment to get it checked by dealer. Will keep you updated.

I had the same issue and took the car to the dealership. They said it was completely normal for this transmission and even let me test drive one of the other camaros on the lot and it had the exact same noise. Its shitty, but its something your going to have to live with.
An easy way to recreate the noise is to put load on the transmission (start going up a hill at 5 mph in second gear) and then clutch in really fast. When the transmission unloads you will hear this clunking metal sound. |

It likes to clunk until you get used to managing your revs around the shifts. It takes some getting used to, but I keep my revs up higher, this tranny doesn't like to putt from 1st to 2nd to 3rd. It shifts smoother at higher rpms, like around 3000.

I've noticed the same thing with mine. It's really noticeable when driving slowly in first gear then a quick clutch in to coast or change to second. It makes a clunk sound in the drivetrain. do you guys agree that this is normal?

Mine does it and so does the one I test drove before I bought mine. Must be normal, feels and sounds strange for sure though.

It's definitely normal. Every 2016 Camaro I test drove made that sound. I traded in a 2011 Corvette which had the same transmission and made the exact same noise (except louder!)

Without a video it's hard to know if it is similar to what I hear, but I know if I push the clutch in while in 1/2/3 at low speeds, parking lot, or pulling up to a light, I get a clunk.
Sometimes it's a thud, or metallic sounding clunk depending on how much RPM it still has as I put the clutch in quickly. It is normal as far as I can tell, and all of my manual F-bodies did it with the T56, the TR6060 in my 2016 does it too. I even get a similar noise out of my NV3500 in my old TBI truck. I even seem to remember my Miata's making that noise, but less so. Tiny cute little clutches in those.
