I eventually stopped using it altogether because I simply couldn't remember to close the thing.

If OnStar had the capability where you could open or close it from your phone remotely, I'd consider one again.

Now that made me laugh. I hear ya... basically bald here too. I do not open my sunroof all that often, but I just find it lightens the cabin up a LOT even with the glass closed. When I close the actual shade inside for the sunroof, I just feel it's too dark and claustrophobic. I actually didn't even realize the whole reverse mohawk that people talk about on here. That doesn't bother me not having it.

I actually really like all the newer vehicles that have the duel moon roofs. My next vehicle will have that for sure.

It was an 80:20 for me for the reverse mohawk vs sunroof question, so I chose the former and never regretted it. Yes, the cabin receives less light, but I wouldn't call that claustrophobic, I like the cockpit feel, and the roofline allows about 2" of extra headroom this way.

I almost never use the sunroof in our SUV either, I bet I wouldn't even remember it was there if I had one in the Camaro.

2021 LT1 here with a sunroof. Nothing beats having the roof back on a warm summers evening for me. I could live without it, but happy to have it.

2021 3LT with a sunroof. it's nice on a warm sunny day, even on my bald dome.

I got my 2SS without it. It takes up too much headroom and I would have hit my head on it. I also didn’t like that it opens up instead of sliding into the roof.

I like opening mine when the weather is nice. Even when the weather is not the best, just opening the slider could lighten up the interior quite a bit.

I have said it before, but I feel like the performance argument is really overblown for 99% of the drivers out there. Unless you are a diehard track rat who is in it to win it and actually has the skills, I don't believe the sunroof will impact the performance of your average driver. My car still gives a blast on the track and I am far from utilizing every last bit of the car.

That said, if you are a serious performance driver, you are tall, or you are balding, then I see why the sunroof doesn't make sense. To each one of their own. Targa top I had for the C7 was also a nice alternative, just not as convenient as the sunroof.

On my 2 8th Gen Accords(08 Coupe EX-L V6 A5 and 08 Sedan EX M5), there is actually something similar to that. If you tap the unlock key once, and then again and hold down the unlock key, then you can roll the windows down and open the sunroof. Could be helpful on a hot day. The Camaro will also open the windows with this trick, but not the sunroof as far as I know.

I like sunroofs, when I have one it’s used regularly.

I prefer the look of the Camaro without the sunroof…..If the roofline wasn’t a Mohawk shape (without the sunroof), I’d probably feel like the sunroof was a must have.

I currently own a hard top with no sunroof and don’t think it’s claustrophobic (feels just right to me).

I’ve owned 2 6th Gen convertibles and with the top up, they’re most definitely claustrophobic.

I'm 5'10 and wish my car didn't have the sunroof.
Left with only 1.5 inches of headspace with my seating position.
And i miss the double bubble roof.

2. I feel like the double-bubble “reverse Mohawk” roofline of the 6th-generation Camaro is a key design element that goes back to other Chevrolet sports cars. My C6 Corvette Z06 has it and it’s such a fantastic part of the car’s shape, I don’t want to give it up.
This was the key for me. I like sunroofs, but I think the standard roof is one of the features that makes the sixth gen stand out.

Definitely pro sunroof. I had a 2017 1SS without and now a 2018 2SS with. I’m 6’1” and I notice no difference in headroom. It’s not a must have, but I’d definitely choose it. 👍🏻
