I have OEM Goodyear Supercar 3's on my SS 1LE.
I use Raybestos ST-43 pads for track days.


Question: At what remaining pad material depth should i toss the track pads?


2mm / 3mm / 4mm pad material left?

- which pads?
- will u have a back up?
- are you beginner?
- do you have the skills to change them at track?
- are you able and willing to do inspections for material left properly yourself?

i have gone as low as 2mm and then changed the pads myself @ track with new ones

I'm sticking to a 3mm minimum for an all OE setup. I started a track day at about 2.5 once and during the first session I was overheating them to the point where the brakes faded severely enough to blow a corner, luckily no wall on the outside or anything. Swapped to new pads after that session and everything was back to normal. It somewhat depends on the track as well. If you've got the ability to monitor you could go as low as 2mm, but if it's an unfamiliar track and you know they're getting thin it's probably safer to at least move your braking zones a little earlier for corners without decent runoff.
