I have Touring set closed with Exhaust startup Rumble disabled and both Sport/Track set open under all conditions.
I think closing it at startup would be the biggest benefit. I can't believe they programmed it to open at startup like they did, even when the engine is warmed up. It's annoying loud and makes it sound like you car has a kids exhaust. I wonder if that programming has a purpose though? Maybe for condensation or something?

Has anyone figured out which performance mode correlates to tour/sport/track?
Also what about the fact that there is a open and closed%, doesn't really make sense unless it's some kind of reference PWM signal?

Mode 0 = Tour
Mode 1 = Sport
Mode 2 = Track
Mode 3 = Stealth
I'm not sure the difference between the open and close % though.

I agree...don't know what the purpose is.

I'm pretty sure it's exactly how it reads. You use the closed table strictly for how much you want the valves to close under different conditions, and the open table you set for how much you want to allow the valves to open.

For example: let's say for mode 1 you set the closed to 100 in all cells, but the open to -1 in all cells. The exhaust will stay closed until certain criteria is met such as WOT, then the valves will fully open. I was playing with it the other day and that is the correlation I came up with. You can then adjust the exhaust valve threshold which is different rpm and tps points for the valves to reference the open/close tables.

Connect to vehicle
go to Flash --> Read vehicle
then Gather info it will show available modules ECM,TCM and FSCM (may be called slightly different name)
Click read entire for fuel module
Read warning Message comes up that it not a file from vehicle click ok.
FSCM file will be generic file and will be under fuel system tab

Yeah this was my guess as well, unless its modified to be if the control strategy is trying to close to meet the target or open to try to meet the target. Right now im trying to tune tour mode to where it will quiet down enough at WOT to where it is still loud and not muffled, but it is muffled enough to get the horrible raspy/straight pipe lifted truck sound out of it. I don't really hear the car enough from the outside to test, but I did hear another camaro, not sure what mode it was in but it sure sounded really unrefined, like someone just cut the muffler off. From the pictures I have seen of the NPP exhaust it kind of looks like that's what they did and just route it straight through without utilizing the volume of the suitcase.

Would anyone be willing to post up a screenshot of their tables as guidance? I am a bit confused as to how these tables correlate to the modes/gears. I’d like to make track and sport open 100% of the time and tour closed 100% of the time just as King described.. sorry I am an Hptuners noob. Thanks

be careful with tour being closed 100% of the time. stealth mode does that now, and the manual doesn't recommend romping on it too much in that mode. I forget the wording exactly, but it does mention it.

Yeah I don’t think king recommended doing that but used it as an example.

I’ve settled on this:

Tour: just turned off loud startup - rest is stock
Sport: copied the stock track table into sport
Track: all open

Yea that’s what I want to do. Turn off rumble start on tour, and leave it the same otherwise. I’d like sport and track to be 100% open.

So to do this, do you just set the sport/track say like 7000 rpm close and 0 rpm on the open tables?
