MBRP Catback CEL

Hey gents. First post so bear with me....
Just installed MBRP Race Catback on my 1LE M6.
Got the CEL this morning but it runs fine. Any ideas? Obviously no AFM in the M6. But curious if the NPP motors are handed and maybe I got them mixed up.

do you have any way to see what the cel is?

I don't think the npp valves are handed, but I could be mistaken. you could unplug fuse 52 and disable them altogether if that makes you feel better. I don't think a cel has ever been thrown for those.

Only thing related to a catback that I can think of is that there's a leak somewhere in the system. I'd relook at the joints and clamp, reposition/tighten and see if that get's you anywhere.

yeah a catback shoould NOT being throwing a CEL, check your clamps, verify there is no leaks! "Bank" errors are related to your 02 sensors so if you removed them make sure they are tightened and plugged in.

Checked everything. Tighter than prom night. Idk how but maybe that sensor is bad? Im lost on this one. The only other thing i did when installing the exhaust was the catch can but idk how that would affect a rich code.

you def have a leak somewhere, probably on the passenger side. Work front to back, one clamp at a time and re-check everything

Welcome, as others have stated check for exhaust leaks first. While underneath the vehicle swap the O2's from left to right (lot's of rust penetrant before attempting removal and add anti-seize to threads before re-installation). During removal pay close attention for damage to the wiring or harness on the sensor in question. Clear the codes and if the code jumps to the opposite bank you have your culprit. If the code doesn't jump sides I would recommend calling the manufacturer directly for additional assistance.

OK im headed back up to my buddies shop. Gonna go through it from headers to tips. Im gonna take out the sensor take a look at it then swap sides. If it turned out to be a leak will the code just go away or do i need to reset the ECU?

So ran tgrough the whole exhuast. Tightened everything except the headers. Switched the O2 sensors from left to right. Still got codes. Now its P02099 and P0430. Im about to lost my mind on this one. Going to the dealership tomorrow and getting new collector gaskets and a new O2 sensor and covering all my bases.

I replaced the gasket behind the passenger secondary car and the O2 sender. Tightened the holy F*** out of everything. No more code.
