ZL1 with A10 as a daily would be easy as pie. I used to only buy manual camaros but this thing is amazing. Plus when on the highway doing a pull at about 90-100mph sometimes you can feel the car over power the road and it does get a little loose. I like having both hands on the steering wheel for that.

That said, the A10 is very well calibrated. I’ve never felt it to be in the wrong gear, do any hunting, or really anything else strange. It’s so good that I find myself rarely using manual mode at all. About my only complaint is that manual downshifts can sometimes be a bit harsh. The full throttle upshifts more than make up for that. They still make me laugh.
This.

Yes. Not knocking the manual guys. I just cant drive a manual anymore because of my knee. I just was looking for first hand feedback on the A10 because my A8 has been a bit of a pain in the ass and the shift quality when you are full bolt on leaves a lot to be desired

Now over 10,000 miles in nine months and still smile every time I go to work, out with my wife or whenever I have an excuse to drive. Go for it and enjoy every minute.

A lot of people aren’t listing to the comments about the A10. An A8 does not compare to the ZL1 A10. This A10 is unlike any other auto GM has had. GM and Ford are using this A10 or a similar version in cars and trucks now and in the near future.

Back to the OP question, the A10 needs to warm up a bit and the tires. That’s about my only complaint with this car.

If/when I get a ZL1, I kind of prefer the A10 b/c of how good it is. That tap of the throttle instant monster feel is very cool. Had a manual supercharged Mustang GT and sometimes shifting is a blast but often times, it can be a chore, especially a bigger/heavier car.

My g/f hates riding in manual cars as the passenger too. As smooth as I try to shift, she said she hates getting jerked around, lol.

GM’s programming of the A10 is simply amazing, if only Ford would do the same for my Raptor, it’s programming it terrible by comparison, same transmission although I’m sure there are some differences like gear ratios but the smoothness and crispness (at the same time !) and choosing the right gear a t any moment is uncanny in the GM version.

6500 miles, love the A10, much better daily trans than my V2's A6.

Yes it has been tuned every which way from sunday. The A8 just isnt a very refined transmission. It does perfectly fine in all out acceleration but in daily driving it can be quite unpredictable. You can take off exactly the same 5 different times and the shift feel will be different every time.

Over 20k miles here.... I use it from commuting to work to cruising around. I hate having to drive my silverado and get bored easily in that. No issues at all so far, nothing but happiness haha.

And for now, it's the fastest factory car I have owned, does everything right.

No such problems with the A10. The transmission still shifts as well as it did when stock on my car. Helped me click of a 10.79 @ 132 with just headers, intake, and ported TB, and a little tuning. I recently added a smaller blower pulley, and haven’t noticed any bad behavior in the transmission. I do plan to eventually unlock the TCM to raise torque limits and such, but I haven’t yet.

The only problem I’ve had was one time it ran into the limiter on the 3-4 shift. This has been reported by others with bone stock cars, and I have no doubt it’s a software glitch that GM will fix. I bumped my rev limiter by 50 RPM in 3rd gear, and it’s never happened again.

The A* and A10 should never be compared. The A10 is a top performer and great no matter how you drive the car. GM knocked this way out of the park.
