Camber settings and alignment

Ive ran two track days on the car with the front camber stock. I’m going again Sunday and want to run the camber in the track position, but if I do rotate the springs do I need to align the wheels? And if so how hard is it to do?

I’m pretty good with a wrench and the suspension rotating doesn’t phase me. But an alignment might be too much for me unless someone has a solid YouTube tutorial

O guess the actual question is this: I’ve seen videos of people messing with the toe after changing the camber to track, and some others that leave as is. What’s recommended?

You need to reset toe or you will destroy the tires. Prety sure you will end up w massive amounts of toe in.

While easy to fix, you really need to do change on rack to know how much to adjust to go from "street" to track mode.

Destroyed set of front tires is much more $$ than proper alignment.

Just get a lifetime alignment at a local shop. You’re going to want to check it every few months

Adding more negative camber at the front will make the toe go toe out. Yes, while swapping the strut camber plates is easy enough, it's the change in toe that requires some precision. Especially at the rear.

I do my own alignments but it requires a set of proper tools, know how and a perfectly flat, level surface to eliminate variables. I think it could be possible with the proper skillset to get the front toe correct without having to rely on a shop or even my procedure. A few choice tools for that can be had for minimal investment.

But since the rear is the more difficult end to get correct, you'll have to get to a shop, at least for the first initial change to track specs.

I have a write up on camaro5 on my alignment procedure.
