Raybesto vs Hawk

Anyone have experience with either the ST-43, DTC60 or DTC70s? I want to swap to a track dedicated pad. I hear the ST-43s are good and last long, but eat your rotors up. Also, a good combo for some is the DTC70s up front and 60s in the rear.
Love to hear your thoughts!

Hawk pads are more corrosive and leave corrosive material on wheels. I have been using Raybestos pads for years and didn't have issues using them all year around.

The Hawk pads, the DTC60 and DTC70, are pretty aggressive and will create more heat quicker than the Raybestos. If your choice are these 3 pads, go for the Raybestos and either re-use the factory pad shims/isolators or get some Ti shims.

Yah I was going to use Ti shims regardless as these are a track only pad. I'll use stocks for the streets

Spot on. I've run DTC60's on my other weekend toy/track car and these pads are great but eat rotors quickly. DTC70 is even more aggressive. See PDF for more details on Hawk.

I run ST45 in front and ST43 in back and pleased with the performance. Girlfriend runs Hawks and hurt the finish of her wheels after a rainy day at track.

Any good deals on the Raybestos? I know they are quite a bit more than the Hawks but if they last longer and dont eat the rotors as much, id rather go that route

KNS Brakes may still have some on sale. I just bought another set for front and back last week after seeing an advertisement. I should mention the ST45 are much louder when lightly braking compared to the ST43 if you plan to do a lot of street driving.

These would be only for track use. Street driving I will be swapping back to stock at the track. Also looking into ST45s on all 4 corners. Will have more bite, but how do the rotors do with them?

Thinking in the simplest of ways, if the Raybestos stop as well as the Hawks but last longer, doesn't that have to mean they are wearing the rotors faster? It's friction and something is wearing away, but i might need another lesson on friction coefficients and properties of materials.

I personally like the characteristics of the Ferodo DS1.11 pad better than the ST-43. I have gone through 2 sets of OEM, 2 sets of ST-43, and 1.5ish sets of DS1.11 so far and the Ferodos have been my favorite by far. Initial bite is very strong, no fade, and rotor wear is reasonable. The ST-43 lasted long but I was able to get them to fade and they were pretty harsh on rotors.

Not a fan of Hawks for anything.
