Any feed back on performing the removal of the "Track Deflector and Splash Shield, for Race track driving...." can it be used on public roads with out issues???

I will be tracking my daily driven 2019 2SS 10sp, about once per month.

I think it says on it for" track use only." Not for use on the street. If you are going to track only once a month, just go without. Not worth the time to put on and take off. I threw mine in the trash as soon as I got home.

The track deflector will create another ~1.5” of aero parts beneath your splitter. IOW, you’ll scrape more frequently on the street. From appearance, it channels air laterally away from center of car. I assume it aids in brake cooling, reduces frontal lift and likely adds some stability at high speeds, at a cost of reduced ground clearance. If that’s not a problem, I’d install it and leave it on. Otherwise, you’ll just destroy it over time.

No experience w/ splash shield. My ZL1 seemed to come with the small one installed.

I bought and installed a set of the plastic deflectors on for peace of mind shortly after getting my SS 1LE even though I track less than you plan to and have not had any brake issues with the stock SS 1LE rotors/pads and Stoptech STR600 DOT4 brake fluid. Yes they do scrape on steep entrances/exits frequently on the street but they are very flexible so it hasn't caused much damage to them. Plus the underside of the front splitter scrapes frequently too anyways. Worst case I can buy another pair for $20 if the current pair eventually gets worn away.

I believe the metal splash shields are more involved to put on requiring front rotor removal.

Ive been rocking my track deflectors on the street for 19k miles.

Truth be told, there are a lot of SS Camaro out there rocking the track deflectors and people don't know they are installed. This is because many detail-oriented dealers just take them out of the trunk and just install them because they are there.

I saw a '20 SS convertible driving by me the other day and I could see the outline of something sticking down under the car, near each front wheel - track deflectors.

That said, I ran the track deflectors on my '16 SS on the street and I now run them on my SS 1LE on the street. On the SS, it wasn't really an issue and never really had much problem with scraping. On the SS 1LE they will scrap here and there (probably why GM doesn't include them on the SS 1LE or ZL1), but they are "self-clearanaced" now (the amount of material removed isn't really the much).

They are functional and are not garbage for anyone going to the track...

Thank you All!!! this has been very useful!!! I've decided to install all year long..... being in hot tropic (Puerto Rico) and aggressively driving on the mountains very often, I guess it will work for me....

I have a non-1LE and did not run them at Cresson earlier this week. The front pads got wiped out after 8 sessions, had 6 non-rain sessions at ECR and 6 non-rain sessions at Angleton already on the pads. I plan to run the larger deflectors when I go to COTA next month to see if the pads last longer.
