Orange Peel

This is something I didn't even know existed on our last purchase but after getting into detailing I became very aware of it. I notice it's on your checklist and I agree with not letting the dealership detail it, but what should we do if we notice the orange peel? Thanks for the time.

Are there this many flaws in the Camaro? I hope not.

The 1st year got a little out of control on the poor QC. Lots of guys are sitting the fence until things are in order.

It's flaws in production in general. QC today isnt what it used to be! Even having the checklist you have to do it. I found a chip in one of my wheels doing my first thorough cleaning and now I can't do anything about it. Once you take possession they can blame it on you and not the factory, travel, or dealership.

I saw the dimples on a new coupe that just arrived at a local dealer. I will keep looking around. Maybe we will all have those dimples?
I have them - anyone figured out what they are? Maybe pilot positions for the European tags?

Hello to all. PinLover i am on the fence for the 50th SS or 50th LT2 v6 auto on both. Are you happy overall with the V6. I also notice there is very little negotiation room with dealers. Never, Never drive SS first....lol

I went from a 2013 2LT/RS V6 Auto to the 2017 2LT/RS 50th V6 M6. I have driven an SS and for me, the V6 has plenty of power. Both my 13 & 17 have more HP than my 87 IROC-Z. I don't race, track, or do burnouts. I can cruise and enjoy, or downshift and take off when needed - a lot of 1 lane roads in the country here with many slower trucks and old folks! Going from 60 to 80 is very quick and responsive! Letting it loose now and then, I get up to 80 from first to 4th gear quickly as well. Overall, I love the step-up from the Gen5 to the Gen6. I feel like I'm in a cockpit - I can access all the controls (once you learn them) easily. All your standard features are going to be the same in a Gen6 RS or SS - you're just adding 120 HP under the hood. If you feel you need it, then go for it. I don't and I definitely don't regret my purchase of the V6 (again).

I also looked at the financial aspect. It's not just the extra $5k-$10k on an SS sticker... it's also the gas and insurance. I'm 46 and my insurance rates aren't bad at all, but the SS would add a minimum $20/month for the rest of my ownership (with rates going up over time as well). The gas - having to put premium in and getting lower mpg means more gas at a higher cost.

If you order your 50th, you will have little room for negotiation. You will only have any current incentives. If the 50th is already on the lot, you probably have more wiggle room.

Good luck to you... any other questions just ask - preferably in the Club F1fty thread and not hijack this thread.

Hello,

Please consider adding "pose for pictures with the sale's rep" to the list as well as give the rep a tip ahead of arrival from trucking. Greasing ahead works better than a promise in my view. Also, I did a video of a walk around of mine as well so if I found something later (like missing a scratch) it would be on the recording.

Kindest,

Donner

Is there a radio unlock code for Camaro that we should also get from the dealer like many other vehicles have? Didn't see it mentioned in the checklist...

Any recommendations on checking the spring compression blocks? Just reach up over the wheels if your hands can fit? Also, how do you confirm the driving modes and dual exhaust in the lot?
