Car would not respond to key fob
Yesterday went grocery shopping with my 2017 SS and after I unlocked the doors and opened the trunk to put the groceries in I opened the drivers door and with the door open I hit the starter button and got "No Fob Detected". I shut the door and placed the fob into the rear facing cup holder still no fob detected. I then got out of the car shut the door and hit the lock button and nothing. Tried all buttons but no response. So I got back in the car shut the door put the fob back into the cup holder and it fired up. Decided to to go straight home and checked the battery in the fob which I replaced last year and it was still good. Have not had a repeat as of yet but decided to use the spare fob from now on. Anyone else have this issue? Is it the fob or just another GM quirk? I know our Lincoln MKX did it once but the issue did not recur. I am now worried about taking the car far from home.

Strange. Were you close to a fast-food drive-through? My G8 does that whenever parked close to a certain In and Out Burger. Thinking it's getting interference from their two-way.

Have had the same problem several times as well. It cures itself after waiting a few minutes but not sure what the cause is.

I just had the control module in the center console replaced based on TSB 16-NA-396. In the 2 years I have owned my Camaro it has happened 3 times where I took a short trip (store, post office, etc.) and when going back to the car it did not respond at all to the key fob, the door sensors didn't work, etc. Basically dead. I waited 10 minutes and it would all start to work again.
Hopefully the new module will fix the issue. |

I have this happen in a 2018 Suburban I own. I think I will take it to the dealer to sort out.

The part number I gave is for a 2019 model.
