Auto indexing windows and tint

Morning All

I get my windows tinted Wednesday and wondering if I should be at all concerned with the auto indexing windows since you aren't supposed to open or close the windows for first 5-7 days after tint has been applied. I know allot of people here have got tint so just wanted to see if anyone had any issues.

Obviously, the only solution is to stay in the car for a week and have them do the tint with you inside.

Seriously though, I'm not sure how others do it, I did my own. I put the tint on, squeeze out all the excess and hit the bottoms with a heat gun lightly, it didn't mess up anything when I opened and closed the doors. I used a ceramic tint 35% all glass

5% on mine. No creases from the window movement. Just don't have the window do more than that. You'll be ay-ok!

Just don't do the front windshield lip if you have PDR. While I haven't seen it personally, I've heard it affects the PDR view.

No issues here either.

My tint guy actuated the door latches to index the windows up, and did the job by tucking the tint in all the way down the bottom of the glass. When I asked him about indexing on modern vehicles, he said it wasn't ideal, but there wouldn't be an issue with his method, he does many of these cars.

My installer said it wouldn't be an issue. He was aware of the indexing. And I haven't had any issues since the install.

No issues here either, went with 35% all the way around (except windshield).

BTW, if you have to do it, the dash info center will tell you what to do. Mine came up after having the battery disconnected this winter while working on an amp install, and it walked me through it. Super easy.

I had mine done late last fall. The shop let it sit with the driver door open for a while. They trip the latch to let the window go up. I drove it home and just let it sit a couple of days.

Thanks for suggestions and putting my mind at ease. I will make sure to explain this to the tinter tomorrow but there is a good chance they have already dealt with this before and I am worrying for nothing.

That's correct, our cars apparently aren't the only ones that have this feature.

I looked at the tinters website and there are a boatload of Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs in their gallery so that makes me feel much better.

I am planning to go 30% all the way around the car with an eyebrow as well so we'll see how it turns out.

By the way what is everyone using to load pics on this site. I have been trying imgur but I still haven't got the jist of it. I simply don't post enough pics I guess.

I go advanced and click on the paperclip and load straight from my phone Google photos. Once picked, then upload. Once that's done, close that window and post.

I figured they knew how to deal with it, since the place we used has been in business for almost 30 years, but I asked about it anyway. They said several vehicles have it but it is not a problem with how they do it. We went with 10% on wife's 2022 2SS & just didn't use the windows ourselves for about 3 days. Have had no issues at all & looks great.
