Header question

So I can get a pretty good deal on a set of TSP 1 7/8'' long tubes with cats from a local guy going back to stock. I know it's recommended to go 2'' on a blown car but is it really needed? I'm not looking to squeeze every bit of HP out of the car. Also, this is the catted set up....how do those cats handle the extra stress of a supercharged engine? I'd rather run no cats but from what I've read the NPP gets crazy raspy with no cats.

What do you guys think? All opinions welcome. Thanks!

For what it's worth I'm getting cat codes on the stockers right now so I figured I'd just go long tubes...however I'm also not opposed to just doing cat delete pipes and then I'll figure out if the NPP is to raspy.

1-7/8 vs 2" is super marginal difference, even on an FI car. I'm betting less than 10hp and probably only at peak. Up to you where your $/hp is worth it.

Some info here, but I think it is a bit outdated. https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=472259

Pray always recommends 2", even on N/A cars.

As for rasp, yes, headers+npp+no cats is raspy AF at 50%+ throttle. Not too bad at lower throttle though. I personally like it, but it isn't for everyone. Also, sounds fine with the npp closed.

I would NOT run cats on an FI setup with cheap TSP cats. Pay the money to get kooks green or go none at all.

I figured as much, that's why I asked...I figured I'd melt them quickly lol.

Thank you for the other info.
