I never felt mine but I don’t think it was that hot. I did pull my van and noticed small traces of oil and I also did not notice any pooling so something is working. I took the Elite cam apart and the design is very good. I did take the sound dampening plate off of the underside of the SC lid and it had been holding old oil behind it. I’m reading if you leave it off you will get a little more whine from the charger so we will see. Hoping to have this bish together by the weekend

I forgot to mention.

As per Elite, it doesn’t matter which vacuum line (brake booster or air intake) you hook up into the outer ports on the catch can, as long as it’s the two outside ports of the can.

In other words, as long as The middle port on the can is hooked up to the PCV valve you can hook up the vacuum lines to either of the remaining ports in whatever order you want.

Why is it so hard for me to put that into a sentence lolol

I just spent 2 hours mounting the Catch Can to the thermostat bolt in the front of the engine. I had to use 2 washers behind the bracket Elite sent me because the round/silver bracket that holds the catch can (and mounts to the “L” shaped bracket) was hitting one of the pulleys !!

Easy fix but for some reason It feels shitty to have had to do that.

For those of you that mounted the can tot he bottom bolt on the thermostat. How the hell did you get the catch can to sit higher than the radiator hose??

Like in the picture below.

The top of my catch can has to sit below the hose that goes to the radiator, there is not enough slack in the radiator hose to wedge the catch can next to it.
I wanted to mount mine here but I never got a bolt that was double sided to secure the thermo housing and also the mounting bracket...did they send you one?

According to service manual. The cover bolts are reusable. Only the gasket needs to be replaced.

What do you mean by double sided bolt?

I just reused the bolt that was there.

I had a suspicion that they could be reused.

That’s good to know. Only the SC to head bolts are single use I guess. Thanks for this

Did you guys use Teflon tape on the treads for the new PCV?

I didn’t use any on my install. Just a dab of oil on the threads.

I realized today the instructions call for it to be used. The stock PCV didn’t have anything on the threads when I removed it.

I didn't either. Its low pressure in the case. Don't think its needed.

My buddy finally put one on after 6k mostly modded hard miles, (track guy). When he took the blower off he said there was basically no oil there.

The blower wont collect much oil while being pushed hard. Its when it idles and cruising that it will get dirty. I had more oil that Im comfortable with going into my intake, so no regrets.

I hear ya man and I'm sure you know more about the topic then myself. I'll more then likely do one eventually as well. Peace of mind more for me. Now whether its needed or not maybe one can bring some actual fact to the table one day.
I still find it hard to believe that they wouldn't of put one on from the factory if it were truly needed. They did such an amazing job on this car seems like that's one fairly inexpensive short cut they wouldn't of skipped.
