Finally... New Photo's of my ZL1!!!
Took 4 1/2 months to get some photo's on my 2014 ZL1. Very hard to get shots of entire car and see the wheel detail, so I will add some wheel close-ups. Hope you like. BMR 1" lowering springs. All ground effects color matched and Xpel covered. Most badges removed.
Close up of the wheels. 20x10 and 20x11 Lexani Forged Monoblock 108 completely hydrodipped. Michelin 295/315X35R20. No rubbing whatsoever after removing plastic mud flaps. Another wheel close-up. Another close-up. Another full car shot. Just added this shot so you can see what a 2014 looks like with that rediculous piece of cheap black plastic color matched. There is life after the factory 10 spokes. Never had a dealership buy my factory tires and wheels back though... $3200.00. Been in the custom wheel business since 1975. Maybe two tone paint job, like dark grey over the silver. My wife found an orange over silver that she liked but resale on that one would be difficult. The Camaro is on the back burner for a few months due to my wifes H1/Pedator Motorsporsts conversion $200K+!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Thanks everyone for the complements!
The body shop I took the car to removed all the plastic pieces from the car, sanded them metal smooth, two coats of special primer made to make paint adhere to plastic, seveal coats of SIM then clear coat. It took them 8 days and get this... only cost $1200.00! The spoiler and side skirts are also covered in Xpel. I had quite a bit of Xpel applied but all those lines are just not for me. I had all of it removed except the spoiler and side skirts. When I picked it up it looked so good I took it to the Chevy dealership and all the guy's came out to see it. I told them this is how a ZL1 should look from the factory! They took lots of pictures. I actually was only painting it so the wrap guy's could wrap the pieces in carbon fiber. I took it to them first, but they tried to stick a piece of 3M film to it and it just fell off. They said you will have to paint it first. But after I saw it color matched there was no way I was going to cover it. |

I am very interested in this look, but like I said earlier the Camaro is on hold for a while.

Perfect stance.
What size are the Michelins? And are those wheels factory offsets? Beautiful car. Gives me a few things to think about!

The tires are 295/35R20 Fronts and 315/35R20 Rears MPSS. You caught me on the offsets. The fronts are at +30, not +23 as stock. The rears are +43 which is stock.
Do not try anything more positive than +30 on the front as it will not clear the shock. Like I said previously we had some rubbing on the right rear on the top nut holding the mud flap on. After removing the flaps no more rubbing. The Michelins are expensive but the last longer, ride better, have better traction both wet and dry, and most importantly they won't crack in 20 degree weather! I have been confused by the fact that they build a car that has heated seats, mirrors and a rear window defroster, but don't build the car during the winter months or recommend driving them below 40 degrees??? |
