What is the difference between the 1SS and 2SS?

Check out the ordering guide someone posted for full details, but 1SS is basically a base car with a V8 and the 2SS has almost every option standard except for MRC, Dual mode exhaust, and sunroof.

Does the 2ss also have the upgraded (6 piston) brakes?

No, you have to add them. 5LQ is the option number.

1SS is the base V8 option. That said, its not like it comes stripped. You still get the 8" touchscreen, Bluetooth, USB, and backup camera. It also comes with the 8" configurable drivers screen. Basically comes with more stuff standard than my 2010 did with a few options checked. 1SS pretty much looks exactly the same on the outside as a 2SS.
2SS comes pretty much loaded. You get the leather, heated/cooled seats, dual zone climate control, upgraded audio, the interior changeable LED lights in the doors and dash, the illuminated door sills, Heads up Display, more interior color options, better stitching....I'm sure there is more I'm forgetting. My ESTIMATE on cost would be around 35,500 for a 1SS and around 39,000 for a 2SS.

I believe the HUD is only on 2LT and 2SS models. MRC should be available on both.

Just because there is no facility to display each tire pressures, doesn't mean the vehicle doesn't have TPMS and individual TPMS modules in each tire. edit: After I type this, I realize from context, this is what you're asking about... but do note that Full Lock is correct when he says all new vehicles sold in the US from 2012 and on must have TPMS.
