2013 Vs. 2014 SS/1LE Help
So, after reading every post, I'm starting to get that 80% of this forum doesn't like the new refresh, which I respect. If I owned a 10-13 SS, it's not worth a trade up. However, I'm right about to trade my 11 LS for a Ashen Grey 1LE, which leaves me w/ a decision of which year to go with.
Here's the issue: I actually LIKE the new 14, but I'm scared I'm going to regret it because in the future, I'm assuming the 10-13 will be considered the 'classic' Camaro. I love both models, I just don't want to make a mistake. SOMEBODY F$@#KIN HELP ME! |

'14 all the way.
The fifth gen will never be a true "classic" in the 1st or 2nd gen camaro sense. It will never be "classic" it will only be "old". |

No I'm not trolling. Get a '14 it will be different. Exactly what he said ^^^. The fifth gen Camaro will be just another car in the future. It will never be a collectible classic. It will be just like todays 98 mustangs. Just another sports car on the road.

If you like Acura tail lights, go with the 2014. I have no idea what they were thinking in doing that.
No more new 2013 LE's around to buy? Have your dealer do a search. Might find one far away, but it might be worth paying the freight to get it to you. Besides, there are still GM sales incentives out there for the 2013's |

Listen go with what you like, the 2014 1LE. Don't worry about what others say about the new looks. Here is what is happening. The minute the new 14s hit the lots the values on the 10-13s will go down because people do not want to pay top dollar on what is considered an old model. Look at what is happening to the 11/12 5.0s, when the revised 13s were offered. The same complaints came from the 5.0 camp, now the 13s are in demand and the 11/12 models are not and their values are dropping drastically (great if you are looking to buy used though).
Also other than the 1LE hood with the vent I prefer the new look of the 14s much more than my prior 2010 model, across the board.

Get what you want. I doubt these cars will ever increase in value like the 1st gen did. Too many people buy these cars and park them in their garage therefore the market will be flooded with pristine models. It's hard to find a low mileage 69 Ram Air Firebird because people bought them to drive them. It's easy to find a low mileage 89 T/A Turbo because people bought them and never drove them. You can find a mint condition 89 T/A for less than what they cost new in 1989.

Hard to tell what people will collect in the future... but if they are collecting 5th gens then the 2013 SS with a 1LE package will be a rare find. The refresh may run for 3 maybe even 4 model years.

Supply and demand. Virtiually all new cars depreciate $300 to $400 per month, some more, some less. I look forward to mine getting old so depreciation per month will go down. Though repairs will go up as it gets older - but not by much @2,500 miles per year. Buy and hold is my strategy, knowing sadly that the $40k car will be worth $10k (based on a 2001 Camaro's resale in 2011) if I sell it 8 years from now. So $3,000 + other costs per year, for the privilege of ownership.
Yes I'm prejudiced, but think that the 5th gen was such a radical departure from previous gens that it will remain desirable. TPAJETSKI you well point out, it's supply and demand. Did people buy them to beat the he** out of them? How many were bought to mothball, or be garage queens like mine? What equivalent or better will come afterwards in 2016+? Stay tuned!

dont think about collectible value, cause you arent going to keep it forever.
Go wit hthe 14, since you like it, and its newer (i.e., more valuable right now) |

World War 3 is more likely to break out before any fifth gen will be worth more than what you paid for it. Get what you like the most.
