We have a good ideal it is coming from the belt or the pulleys on cold starts I have not been able to confirm this yet. My cars away for the winter so I'm only limited right now.
When spring comes around I will go at it better. I just didn't have a lot of time with the car last year. My buisness expanded which forced me into crazy hours at work. Are you having the same issue?

Regardless, I would still call it an "issue" as I have an issue with how it sounds and would like to try to track it down and stop it, as I'm sure others would as well. No matter how minor of a sound it may be. |

Mine either, maybe starts 2-3 seconds after cold start, lasts about 30 seconds or so....then it's gone.

I took the car in for the chirp and diff. issue this week. They were able to fix the diff. for the most part. I had taken the car in a couple of weeks ago for the same issues to another dealer. They used the wrong oil for the diff Some folks just don't get it....it tells you what to use right on the tsb. The chirp wasn't fixed at either place and asked if I could bring it back. I will, only if it starts getting on my nerves. It's just 30 seconds...but it shouldn't do that!

Could it be this?
“At startup, there are two injection events, a short pulse early and a second pulse late [both during the intake stroke]. The combustion gases from the later injection of fuel will still be hot when they exit into the exhaust, which helps heat up the catalytic converter more quickly. This gets the engine controller into closed loop quicker.” |

glad I happened upon this thread. For a long time I thought I might be nuts or SEVERELY OCD, but I hear it too... most other people probably dont notice it, but I do too. I figured it was the idler pulley, or something, but haven't not commenced hosing down the pulleys/belt with any lubricants for fear of slippage, and its under warranty, and I am sure the dealer will be "unable to replicate".....
