Door ding

My car got door dinged up in Vegas on the passenger rear fender, right on the crease. I have a pdr guy telling me it's too hard and needs to go to a body shop. Body shop tells me pdr guy can take em out. So atm idk what to do, what do you guys think, pdr or body shop? Body shop said if I can get pdr to do it, he can fix the paint chop easily. If it doesnt get fixed, they have to pull window seals and stuff and get it blended, much much more money. I took it to the body shop the next day, they hit it with a buffer and this is how it looks afterwards, after he got all the other paint off.

Is the PDR guy you asked the same one that the body shop suggests? If not give their guy a try or ask the body shop who they recommend. I'd go PDR first if possible - then body shop. I feel for you! That is too big a dent to just live with it. I wish you the best for a good outcome.

I had a ding in a similar area on the 2011 GT500 I owned. Took it to a local PDR guy and about an hour or so later it was repaired. Looked like there was never a ding. And, my GT500 was black. I've used PDR on cars and trucks a few times over the years. Just like any business, there are good ones and shoddy ones. You need to do some homework first.

The pdr was who the body shop recommended, but took them a week to get back to me, cuasw they are so busy. Theysaid it was too hard to remove the fender liner in camaros and it's on a crease etc. Tbh, I think they just didn't want the job because they're so busy. Problem is only 2 pdr guys in town, one guy is sketch doesn't call back and other won't do it. So trying to decide if it's worth driving out of town for a few hours to find a pdr guy. I hope your right jus cruisin!

Usually on a crease like that can make a PDR very difficult. Id go somewhere else for a 2d opinion.

The below guide may help you. Basically a crease will be at the discretion of the technician. I hit that exact spot with my knee (just barely), and the metal popped in and back out. I was shocked at how easy it was. I have some distortion when I look at it a certain way, so it did not pop back out 100%. So I suspect your repair will need filler.

In Florida this guy 3 vehicles over the years, including an aluminum F150 that many won't touch.
