Hey guys,

Last year was an absolute blast with our Callaway ZL1, and would call it a success winning the SCCA CAM-C National Tour Points Championship along with the OUSCI (Optima Ultimate Streetcar Invitational) GT Class Cup at SEMA.

For 2023, I wanted to go a different route, to take better advantage of the rule set and restricted to a 200TW Tire, so the plan was to partner with the best in the business when it comes to Road Race builds, and build an NA motor with the professionals at Katech!

Here are a couple early pics of the build progress, and we have a mad dash in front of us to have the car fully transformed by the last week of February for our first Optima Ultimate StreetCar event scheduled for ThunderHill. We'll then start our SCCA CAM-C National Campaign starting off in Vegas later that month.

I will plan to update this thread, as well as one in the Road Race section, as the build comes along.

Instead of giving a run down of all the mods we have planned, I thought it might be good to share and give a shout out to all our partners and sponsors making this build happen and you'll be able to have an idea on what's planned:

Thanks Matt! Quite a bit more to follow over these next 7 weeks! At the same time, have the entire interior being redone, all new suspension being build, switching to Pro Parts USA Custom MCS 2 Way/remote reservoir and MFR doing a full new Aero build!

Then to learn, if it will be faster than 700-800+HP ZL1's on track?!

Not this round, with such tight timing to our first event, 'Just' a Heads & Cam package with some other valve train/drivetrain goodies.

Interesting thought actually! I've been trying to think about some unique things to do with the headrests, brake calipers and such... not a bad idea honestly!

Katech Ported and Polished Cylinder heads, with Competition Valve Job & Titanium Intake Valves, along with Johnson Roller Lifters installed and ATI 10% Underdrive Balancer. Build continues to move along nicely by all the great people at Katech!


Can't wait to see this on the dyno, and then on the race track!
