Shipping delays

Ok so I know this is a thing and all but can anyone with any logistics knowledge explain to me this cluster of getting cars out of the factory and into dealers hands. IT makes zero sense how it takes 2 months to ship a car anymore.

End rant. yes waiting for my built car to be delivered since July

That sucks guys. I guess it still has to do with first the parts shortage then truck driver shortage. Ordered a 21 2SS 1LE in February of 21, took over 7 months until delivery. Ordered a 22 ZL1 in February of 22. Took exactly 7 weeks from day ordered to delivery. And when both arrived in Florida, they were both still showing as awaiting transport and still in New Boston, MI. Hang in there.

None of it makes any sense. Other than the Covid BS excuse they like to use, what is so different today than 5 years ago? The procedure is the same. Load cars on the train, train rolls down the line & makes its stops & drops, car haulers deliver to dealers. What's so hard about this I don't know. The rail company wants to make money, so they want the freight to haul. The car haulers want to make money, so they want cars to haul. Dealers want to make money, so they want cars to sell. Apparently GM is the only one that doesn't want to make money. I don't get it.

Edit: I think the real reason is that GM is focusing most of their parts & efforts to the more profitable trucks & SUV's & they just don't care about the Camaro unfortunately.

Yes, companies want freight to haul and in the past trucks hauled the cars and trains hauled the cars but today I really think they don't have enough finished cars to make a load sometimes, plus they use a crazy last in first out system PLUS who cares about a car they have clearly said they are abandoning.....

Rant off. Sorry, I get carried away.

I have been texting with the agent only to find out that my car is still in the Lansing MI Plant Yard (was given an ETA of 9/13 a couple of weeks ago). Agent told me that there is no ETA as dispatch has not scheduled it. Was also told to work with the Customer Experience Manager for more info at the loca dealer. I asked why they would be of any more help and I was told they have additional tools. Has anyone tried this?

We have gone quite high in the food chain and my dealer has requested expedited shipping. (Yes I have copies). Still nothing. I personally believe it really is as simple as last in first out.

I find it hysterical when you talk directly to a gm rep and they tell you that the dealer can give you better information. The total lack of customer service is to say disappointing is an understatement. How can the dealer give you better info it says the same thing they make up a shipping date let it go past it 2 weeks then just change it. This is for orders that are already sold to. At this point let me go pick the freaking thing up myself. If that was only possible right!

My order never showed up. I walked away from the order 8 weeks ago and got myself a C8 from the same dealer. To date my sales guy has told me the car has never shown up. Built May 18. Until I walked away from the deal we had several eta's but none of them never happened and before Christmas the car went back to waiting for dispatch status. It was a 2022.

Mine was built 11/18/22, and as of 1/17/23 it's still awaiting dispatch.

My ZL1 was built the week of 1/9/23. The dealer said delivery date is Feb 8th. I ordered the car May 31st 2022. Florida is number 3 in new car sales. So that might speed up delivery. We will see if the car arrives near that date.
