I ordered a ZL1 with three different dealers in MI (two of them were medium sized and one high volume) last fall and those orders are yet to be picked up. Couple of weeks back, i started calling dealers (1000 mile radius from Detroit) who had instock and inbound inventory vehicles (closer to my build spec) and spoke to around 30 of them. Most of them are either presold or had a markup.

Finally, i was able to snag an inbound ZL1 (almost similar to my build spec) for MSRP. Dealership was amazing to work with and they closed the deal within a couple of minutes. They also have a couple of manual ZL1 convertibles incoming and send me a PM if you are looking for one. I can pass on my CA information.

My 2023 Shark Skin ZL1 was built the week of 1/9/23. The dealer said it was going to arrive Feb 8th. However, today the dealer let me know I can pick up the car Friday 2/3/23. It took 3 weeks from the factory to my dealer in Florida. I was happy about that. I ordered the car on May 31st.

I'm doing a 50*F dance right now so I can go get mine. It's still in the 30's here and today we even had freezing mist and it's snowed every night for a while now. I'm hoping the weather will cooperate on the 18th, and I'll go down and get it.

Russ sold me my C8 and ordered the ZL1 for me last May. Trucker just picked it up this morning! Russ is the best and has great follow-thru!

I doubt that I will be able to sleep tonight. Tomorrow morning I am going to pick up my shiny new Radiant Red 2SS 1LE from the dealership. Suffice it to say, I've been waiting for a day like this since the early 1970s. Alas, the day is almost here, and man I can hardly wait.

Dealer sent me a photo during PDI

She's a beauty
whenever I see pics like this

I wonder where the dealer techs place the lift underneath.

On the welds or on the bendable bits ?

Wow, 8.5 months from start to finish. The wait has finally paid off, congratulations!

You waited as long as I did. Well worth the wait! Congrats.

Actually the whole process took 1 year. I placed my deposit 2/4/22, getting the car on 2/4/23.

Hey Chop,

Thank you very much for this. I am going through a small dealership in NW Ohio so I kind of knew that this was going to be a long, drawn out process, but I was hoping I might get lucky! haha it still hasn't been accepted so I am going to assume it will be a little while before things get moving along.

I really appreciate it and best of luck with one of the four for you!

I ordered a 2SS non-1LE 4 1/2 months ago and even though I'm #1 in the queue for a 2SS at my dealership, I still don't have an allocation.
I appreciate this reply! I had kind of been hearing/seeing the same thing but I was hoping it was going to change! I just know that I have to be more patient now, which sucks but it is all I can do!

I ordered mine in April 22, it was built November 22 and it's still 'awaiting dispatch' as of the last update from my dealership.

Is anyone getting allocations? I put an order in December and my dealer hasn’t had any cars, not just Camaros, get picked up since the factories opened back up after the holiday. I realize it may take a while.

I have my build submitted to 1 dealership and have 2 other dealerships on the lookout for me. Between all 3 dealerships, I was told the first couple weeks of January and all 3 haven't received an allocation. The dealership I submitted my build with told me no allocations have gone out in my region. Curious to know if that is true. I am Northeast Ohio about 50 miles east of Cleveland but closer to PA line. Been 4 long months of waiting and I am getting very impatient. I've been scouting the lots to see what's available but it kills me to think of not going through with a custom build.
