Anyone else that has recently ordered the gulfcoast drive shaft get the wrong bolts for the diff side? All 6 they sent were fine thread and the diff is coarse. I didn’t plan on using them was just going to use them to hold the driveshaft up there while I modified the heat shield.

Honestly I have not installed mine yet and didn't take a close look at the bolts. So Did anyone else notice an issue? I believe some of the guys posting in here didn't use the supplied bolts. SO the trans side is fine thread and Diff side is coarse? I didn't pay close attention to that when I took my Diff out.

The bolts fit just fine on trans side since it’s not threaded. I’m guess the bolts they sent are 12x1.25 and there actually 12x1.5

I purchased a few different sizes From Belmetric, I also spok to Gulf coast and they said I was the first to notify them of this, They did call me back and checked with a local Shop that deals with 5th Gens and confirmed that the bolts are the wrong thread pitch for the Camaro but not the CTSV. They have been real easy to deal with and I am not going to give them a hard time over a few bolts.

They did say that Flange head bolts may not work because of the taper on the Shaft and that the bolts don't have to be real hard as the force on them is not much. They run regular Ace Hardware bolts.

A flange head bolt will work on the front but probably not in the back. That’s assuming you have the slip joint in the front. I got some from bellmetric and lightly tightened them down and you can see in the front they all start to scratch the surface on the yoke evenly and the back just barely start to bite in where the curve is.

I never bothered to call them about the bolts myself was not to concerned.

I finally got my driveshaft in and bolted down. It is about 1/8 away from the parking break cables but I have the Hendrix offset bushings.
I’m getting antsy for spring to get here and a good downpour to clean the roads off in Wisconsin so I can go cruising again and hopefully no more one wheel peels with my new speed master torque locker and 4.10.

I’m to lazy to crawl under there now but now that I’m thinking about it I would have thought both yokes were the same. Maybe one was just machined a tiny bit different.

If I remember right they both looked the same when i was looking at it, when the bolts come in I'll take a look, do you remember what length you used? I ordered 40 and 45 mm. They said Flange head bolts won't sit flush so that's why they use regular Hex.

So with a GulfCoast shaft on manual SS with stock rear is A,B,C correct?

A) you can use 40mm 12x1.5 HEX bolts on both ends
B) you can use 35mm 12x1.5 FLANGE bolts on both ends
C) you can use 35mm 12x1.5 FLANGE bolts on slip-joint end and 40mm HEX on other end

A or c

So option A would be just fine I think. I don’t believe the extra bolt sticking out on the diff side would hit anything. That would be my only worry.

Option C is kind of up in the air. See my above post.

I see. Thanks for that. So for a front slip-joint install 40mm 12x1.5 Hex or Flange and 35mm 12x1.5 Hex only for the rear
