The 6-letter order code should be assigned immediately, if you didn't receive one, something is fishy. Your order will be sitting at 1100 until the dealer submits it to GM using an allocation they have and GM accepts it, at which point the status becomes 2000. This is when you know your car will most likely be built in the end; as long as it's at 1100, it's as if the order doesn't even exist from GM's point of view. If the dealer does not have allocations or is not willing to "burn" one for your car, the status can stay indefinitely (or until you cancel) at 1100, which did happen to some even here in the forums, unfortunately. To find out the status of your order without having to ask the dealership, you can use GM's customer service chat, or request status updates in the above thread from Joe, who sacrificially provides status updates on Camaro orders to everyone, weekly or even several times a week.
