Ikonmotorsports Bumper garbage fitment
Hey guys, I bought the ikon bumper after seeing tons of great reviews on it. I got the completely wrong bumper in the mail. I ordered the zl1 1le bumper and got the zl1 bumper. The edges dont line up at all, and the fitment is absolute crap. Anyone else have these issues? Also I am now in need of a new bumper, if anyone has the proper zl1 1le bumper and they all dont fit like garbage let me know. Thanks

Ive seen a lot of people with amazing near perfect fitment and stuff, but for some reason I wasn't that lucky.

sorry to say but aftermarket bumpers are a complete crap shoot. The problem is the molds always change after each one is made. Over time it wears and stretches and the molds just don't produce consistent results. Hopefully they have a master mold laying around to created productions molds. I will never buy aftermarket bumpers again, they are almost all terrible.

You will have to do a lot of tweaking with all the adjustment bolts and accept the fact the fender liner won't be A+. I think Ikon usually makes god on their mistakes though (resending pieces etc). Not sure they will swap bumpers, but maybe a partial refund?

My Ikon front splitter looks nearly identical to the stock one unless you are a few feet away then maybe you can make out a few minor seams/imperfections in the plastic so I wouldn't write the company off completely but sorry to read about OP's issue.

How is it different than the factory ZL1 1LE bumper?

What i have been referring to is their bumper isnt correct. I received the one that has the section about the splitter and below the grill that is supposed to be body color, I havent seen many people that have received the proper one that has no space in between the grill and splitter.

I think you received a knockoff of a knockoff. I know there are people who sell ikon-style bumpers that have the issue you are referring to, but if you order directly from ikon here is what is should look like installed. From what I hear around town it accepts OEM accessories even -- have not tried that yet though.

No aftermarket bumper is going to truly be 100% OEM, but the ones I’ve seen from Ikon themselves that people have installed look good and my understanding was the fit good overall. I don’t think many have been installing OEM ZL1 bumpers because they require a spacer to be added and the fender’s to be adjusted a tad wider. My suggestion to you is contact vendor you bought the bumper from and tell them about the poor fitment ask for a return label or refund. If you didn’t buy it from Ikon themselves, I know there are plenty of eBay listings from other vendors that call the their part’s “Ikon-style”, go get one from Ikon Motorsports and see if it’s better.

So I'm confused. You ordered one fascia, they sent you the wrong one, but you still tried to install it???
Why didn't you start by returning the wrong fascia and getting the one you ordered?
