For my SS 1LE, I don't think the ride is too rough. It's just tough compared to a family Sedan if that's what you are used to. Otherwise, I drive around in Sport mode with the suspension setting following the drive mode.

The C7 Z51 I had wasn't rough, but you scrape everywhere you go. Granted, the car was designed to handle some scraping, but I haven't scraped once in my Camaro.

Sent from toaster or something
My C5 with the Z51 suspension was pretty ruff compared to my SS but I didn’t mind, getting in and out of the Corvette was what I got tired of

I'm 73, I can get in and out of my grandsons Camaro but I have to watch my feet getting in. It would be easy to eff up the sill plate if not careful. There is virtually no room in the back seat for an average adult unless you want the back of your front seats eff'd up. Rear seat folds down for more trunk space. It
is a nice car overall. I suggest he go rent one before he buys one.

If you don’t need the extra space and it’s not a daily commuter, no cons.
If you’re going to put 12-15k/mi a year on it, you’ll have to accept the extra $ on fuel. How anyone averages 20mpg in an SS, have no clue.

The A10 Trans was in the works for some time and with the Mustang GT getting it GM kept things on status quo.
Uphill battle brother, the interwebz' A8 hate is real and isn't going away, in no small part thanks to how inadequately GM handled the shudder issue.

The A10 is clearly superior, but like many others, this comparison also tends to suffer from the modern trend du jour towards extremes (ie. the A8 is a "POS" and a "massive failure" that everyone should "run like hell" from, while the A10 is a "flawless", a "godsend", and the "best torque converted trans ever").

From what I've researched, the mechanical differences actually aren't that significant, the A10 can shift faster because the design is smarter, and of course it has 2 extra gears, but that's pretty much it.

Wish there was a nice, balanced, informative and honest comparison video about these two transmissions.

If that is the case, he will LOVE the 2020 2SS with an A10... It will be a blast to drive and he likely deserves that after a long career to earn it... Trunk is small, back seat space is non-existent, if he can get past that, write the check, it is a BLAST to drive!!!

Ummm...You obviously dont have the magnetic suspension or you dont have it in touring mode. Its a very smooth ride in touring mode.

True, Easy Exit helped a lot on my C7.

Speaking of which, I didn't think the EE is useful on the Camaro, but it actually turns out that it helps a lot in tight parking spots so you don't have to open the door as wide as you would without EE to get out of the car.

I don't know about a standard SS, but my SS 1LE is still somewhat stiff in Touring mode compared to the family Sedan(Mazda6) I am driving now.

Again, just depends on what you are used/comparing to.

11MPG? Sheesh, my ZL1 isn’t even that bad, but not a lot of stop & go here.

My 1SS avg’d 17mpg combined. Between 60-70mph it avg’d 26-28mpg. AFM got annoying. I miss the mileage, but not the in & out tone change.

Most have the cons correct.

The biggest pro for me was the stability & handling. It feels so good at any speed. Leaps & bounds better than any old muscle car, like not even on the same planet.

The umbrella comment is pushing it a bit. You can pack luggage for two with a cooler, pillows, the wife’s extra shoes, & have room for extras. I even had two small air conditioners in the back seat on a trip last year.

Love the pros , but honestly these cons look a bit touched up in editing by negative nancy.

- Interior storage is not very good, but you have rear seats to plop bags on;
- the clumsy center console access I agree with;
- the rear seats are just fine for smaller people, my wife and kids are okay with it;
- runflats, while terrible, are a very easy fix and the issue is not Camaro-specific;
- the trunk is actually fairly sizable, the opening is small for sure, but the trunk itself is deep, plus the rear seats fold down if you want to do a Home Depot or Lowe's run.

On the pro side, I'd also mention the sound and the handling, these are also both amazing and permagrin-inducing.

I'm going to pull my rear seat but today it's laid down and I can get two golf carry bags in it. I can put one carry bag in it with the rear seat back up.

But anyway you slice it, the interior doesn't offer much more space than the vette.

Obviously in good humor.

At only 6' 1'', my seat hits the back seat so there literally zero leg room there, so zero. On passenger side, if the wife moves the seat up (she's 5' 8") one grand child can sit on that side but it 's getting tight. (Kids still love that car though) Humans fit kinda but you have to scrunch all up, I just consider it a 2 seater when we bought it and anything else is a bonus.

Convenient storage is nearly zero. No glasses bin, no extra pockets, not even a "change" pocket near the radio/dash. Worst by far of any sports car I had or have. (C8 doesn't have a 'trunk" )Tiny pocket in door and that's it. If you put the manual in the glove box (mines under the seat), it's nearly done too and the console....'nuff said there. Honestly, that's my only real complaint.

HomeLink delete bugged me too, over it now...

Trunk inside size is ok that's why I said access. It's a struggle to fit anything square ish and I hate having to go inside to drop the seats or have to have loose items tossed on the back seats.
