Best bang for buck PD supercharger?

I'm looking to add some forced induction. Not chasing immense numbers, so I don't need the best thing on the market. Just a list of a couple of the best value PD blowers that are reliable.

Secondary question, are all blowers more or less around the same weight? I'd like to minimize front engine weight if I have the choice, although it's not a massive concern. Thank you

Thank you for the reply, looks like a solid option. Do you know anything about the LT4 1.7L Twin Intercooler Eaton Supercharger kit by WeaponX? If I'm reading correctly, it's only $3499. What would I be gaining with the Maggie for the additional $3k+?

Might want to look at that pricing again as that is the price if you have a lt4 supercharger already and need the rest of the items to install it on your LT1. You are looking at a price of 5499 with the supercharger. I would send jucied motorsports an email and see what they can do for you on a maggie 2300 as that would be a better option then the lt4 weapon x option. Espically if you are not looking to go crazy. That will be my plan and where i will be buying once i have the cash saved up.

I have a Maggie 2300, and it's absolutely awesome in terms of output, reliability, temperatures, looks, practically everything. My car made 560 rwhp on the dyno at 7.5 psi of boost, which is roughly stock ZL1 territory (some ZL1s are better, some are worse), and its street manners are impeccable with Ted Jannetty's tune.

You don't really need the big kahuna 2650 if you aren't chasing wild numbers (like laynlo15, heh, he's a pro anyway), you can't even spin that boy fast enough to reach its best efficiency range with the LT1 without additional major engine mods.

With that said, since you want the best bang for the buck, the LT4 1.7 liter is probably the cheapest and lightest solution. It spins faster to make the same power, so the supercharger whine coming out of it is much more pronounced at lower power levels, if you're into hellcat style whine (I'm personally not).

I agree with Greg regarding the 2650 Maggie being the best option, but the 2300 may be the best bang for the buck. My results were basically identical to Arpad_m's. I dynoed at 568whp on just the blower and headers. Based on similar builds, I should be in the 700's after adding lt4 fuel and cam.

Bang vs buck for most would be a LT4 supercharger setup picked up used. You could put one together for around 3k. Put a LT4 fuel system in it, run E85 @ 6psi and make right at 600whp... run it all day like that for years. Another option is to shop the classifieds and you can likely find a good deal on a Maggie 2300 or Whipple. I bought my Whipple for 5k new and applied the savings to fuel system upgrades. Whipple has better cooling then the 2300 but not as good as the 2650. 2650 is top dog but both companies have larger units coming out next year.

My advice is to Figure out your power goals now then purchase the mods(with some breathing room) or you will end up spending more money in the long run. It's very common to tell convince yourself that "you only want 550whp" then a year later you have blown well past the initial budget and power goals shooting for 800+whp. lol

I thought any supercharger on a ss with only running a complete LT4 set up. Would not be able to run e85 as it exceeds the output the lt4 system can handle.with out a cam upgrade.

You can run any PD blower on the LT1 fuel system, you’ll just have to keep the boost low (~7 psi or less). The LT4 fueling is a smart upgrade that will let you turn the boost up. The LT4 fueling can indeed run some E85, you’ll likely just have to blend it some depending on your desired power level.

No that is the LT1 fuel system. ADM performance documented a few years that you can run e85 with the LT4 fuel system up to 6psi of boost on a otherwise stock LT1 engine. The Ted Jenetty also documented that you can run up to 9psi on E60 with the LT4 fuel system on a LT1. The LT4 engines can get up to E70 or so at stock boost(9-10psi) because the LT4 cam has a larger fuel lobe to drive the high side pump.

So you can run a magnuson 2300 (states 6psi on website) with a lt4 low pressure pump, high pressure pump and injectors on e85 and still not max it out?
