2016 ss belt replacement

car has had a squeal for a month or so decided to order the belts to replace it last week and called dealer for a quote and they wanted over $200 for both anybody got any tips or trick? looked at it over the weekend and sepentine belt looks pretty straight forward but no idea how to replace the ac belt



help???? haha thanks guys

I'd be suspicious of the serpentine belt tensioner. Also, as others have said, the ac belt is a huge pita. Removing and reinstalling the existing belt is very easy as it has already been stretched. If you're trying to eliminate the ac belt as the source of your squealing, just roll the old one off and see if the squeal goes away. As for the serpentine belt and tensioner, replacement couldn't be easier. Once you round up the tools, it's a 15 minute job.

took it to dealer saturday to replace belts they called me and told me its the tensioner they are replacing the belts and tensioner and should have it done today/tomorrow well see if warranty covers it

dealer called me today they covered all of it except the ac belt as that wasnt a part of the serpentine system $150 car is all done and picking it up later

Have you had to replace the supercharger belt yet?

How many miles do you have on your car, kropscamaro? Just wondering what the typical lifespan is for the tensioner.

i have a 1ss so no supercharger on my car and i have 28k on my car not much...

Yeah, the ac and serpentine belts don't seem to like getting spun to 7000 rpm all that well. I had both belts, on separate occasions, shread themselves and fly off.

yea the belt and tensioner they covered but the ac belt i had to pay for mysself

$150 wow $20 belt and about 10 min to install including putting car on lift. There is a $9 tool that makes install easy.
