Switched power?

Where do you guys tap a hot/switched wire, to power GPS, ect. I'm going to hotwire the GPS to the battery in the trunk or maybe install a fuse block and tap a tail light for switched power.

I've read about the harnesses. I'm looking for a wire to use a Positap on, up front.

Thanks.

I was able to find both switched and constant power in the A-Pillar on drivers side when I was wiring up my dashcam.

Purple: Switched power (I believe it switches off after 5 minutes of turning the car off)
Red with white stripe: Constant power
Black: Ground

Warning: Although there IS switched wiring in Passenger side wiring harness too......ALL power wires are switched on the passenger side wiring harness in A-Pillar...there is NO CONSTANT power on passenger side. You must wire into drivers side as shown if you need to tap into constant power (such as for a dashcam with motion sensor) along with switched power.
