EU Camaro SS 2018. Getting 13,7 - 14 L/100km on average over the current life of the car (9400 km). Mostly country roads, some highway and city. Running on 95 RON.
This is equivalent to only 91 octane here in the US. Any reason for not filling her belly with 98? Is it much more expensive in Sweden?

Actually I'm just doing what the manual says. Both the manual and fuel cap on my Camaro says to use "91+ OCT(AKI?) and 95+ RON". Here is a picture of my fuel cap and manual (in Swedish), but it basically says the same as the US manual just with 95 RON instead of 93.

Looks like the US manuals specify 93: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showp...3&postcount=11

I don't know if the EU Camaros come with a different base map than the US and Canadian models. Or if it is just a Would be cool to find out. Or maybe it is just a convenience thing.

Most places carries 95 RON, E85 and Diesel. The only place I know of that has higher octane is Shell, who has the V-Power 100 (RON).But it comes out at around 7.35 USD per gallon.

So, I filled the tank and reset the trip calculator. I set the cruise control at 110km/hr and drove down the highway. No traffic at all, so basically no need to change anything. I drove about 30km, and then slowed down to 100km/hr for the rest of the trip. I was checking the instant fuel economy to see if it was different at the 2 different speeds.

Background information about my car, 18 SS1le M6 with long tubes, no cats, cai, and tuned. Other then that, it's stock.

After the highway test I was very bored so I decided it was time to do some hard pulls. Turns out the instant calculator only goes up to 39.9 l/per100km.

Same as above. Had to pick up another AR15 from Ajax today. 8.3L/100km on the highway.

So, I didn't baseline, as most seem to make right around 400. It was a horrible day to get great dyno numbers, mid August last summer, hot, humid etc. The car dyno'd at 420, after exhaust and tune.

The tuner said if I wanted a big number for the paper in the window, come back when it's cold out.

As for price, I'm not entirely sure for just a tune. They bought the parts and did the install also. I told another member to call them for exhaust last yr, and he had told me that they gave him a very good price.

Full disclosure, the owner of the shop is a friend of mine, but if you do research on him, he was the tuner for Dasilva motorsports that closed in Breaslua. There was such an uproar of Corvette guys looking for him to work on their cars that he opened his own shop

If you want proper work done, go there.

I see, it's 91 US and that should work, my owner's manual has the same info. Plus the real premium stuff is super expensive in Europe. Actually, gas is way more expensive there overall, but that's another tangent and I won't hijack the thread.

Not sure 98 RON or V-Power would make any performance difference in your case, and that kind of cost is hard to justify. I only ever use 93 US, but then I have a supercharger (ie I forfeited my warranty), and don't want to risk any issue by getting just the bare minimum required.

I’m pretty sure the owner of CCP also came from Dasilva. This is not supposed to be an argument, just my opinion. I know a couple people who use CCP, and they have good things to say about the shop also. Go to whatever shop you want.
