Huh, I'm not getting into a pissing contest about how I build or race my car. So, I'm not yanking out the back seat but if I want to I will. I've been drag racing or building cars for 48 years. Your first impression on me is I don't give a shit what you think. So, your approach sucks. By the way I like autocrossing and have done that with this car last September. It handles great and was only a couple seconds slower then the quickest car there, I had a co driver who just is a wicked driver and finished 1st in class, I finished 6th out of 10 cars. He races every weekend almost and I race a couple times a years. He's good.

Hey, its all good man. A tesla would be awesome, just a little more money then I would want to spend since I'm retiring in a couple years.

If you are doing that, then i would focus more on handling rather than yanking out back seats making your car look ghetto.
Did you miss your nap today? This forum has all types of people and interests, no need to be critical and condescending to others.

Buy a ZL1 and call it a day if going the lot car route, far better build for racing.

My only point with 1/4 mile runs is anyone with a foot can mash a peddle and drive in a straight line for 12 secs, little to no skill. There is real genius involved in getting it to that point via tuning and the right combo of internals however. Being an experienced racer as you mentioned, you can see the skills involved in when to accelerate, commanding oversteer/understeer, cornering, lateral velocity..etc. Nothing is a bigger thrill.

Its like NASCAR changing the format to 1/4 mile runs with a checkered flag waiting 10 secs later - riveting. These forums are littered with people who measure their camaros credibility based on this 1 metric alone, so its somewhat the norm. Its how vendors hammer home performance part sales.

When a soccer mom in a Ludicrous mode Tesla smokes everyone for a 1/4 mile, guess we'll crown her queen of racing. Throw in a few curves to maneuver and watch the smile fade from her face.
WTH? The OP was just weighing his supercharger.. how did track preference, auto/manual get into this???

OP has been drag racing and building cars for 48 years and you just jumped in here out of topic to give him a lecture..

You are def, a disturbedSS my friend lol

I'd settle for going to the track and watching you compete.

Saying "anyone with a foot can mash a peddle and drive in a straight line for 12 secs, little to no skill" is just trying to piss people off. I build, crew and race cars of all types for a living. Winning is not easy. How many road race wins do you have anyway? Make enough to support your racing habit? Doubt it.

Hvr is correct, no winning is easy. You have to have the car set up, proper air pressures in the slicks, burn out routine has to be the same every time, staging the car and leaving on time if you want to be consistent and go some rounds or maybe end up in the finals and win. Competition is unreal at the track and many just can't figure it out. I've won a few bracket races and lost a lot of them, mostly leaving on time after your staged. Its all in the game you play every time you unload off the trailer or get to the track to put your drag radials on.
