Best hp per buck

So I always read that adding e85 too a zl1 was the cheapest option for hp gain. But diving down into it, it seems it's still well over a grand to get a zl1 tuned on e85. What are you guys paying? I'm looking at $900 for tune and credits, already have the hptuner, and I still need to buy a jms voltage booster, and find an installer. So it's around $1500 to get set up and run e, is that right? My prices are $300 for tune, $150 for flex fuel tune, $220 for 4 credits, $300 for flex fuel sensor, $499 for jms voltage booster, $ for install if can't figure out jms. I feel it's alot more money than putting my old 2ss on e, not including jms does it cost more to tune a zl1 or just cost difference from a few years time?

Yep, you've pretty much got it. You're gonna pay over a grand for any improvement to a ZL1 performance, because the tune costs a grand. Might pinch a penny or two out of it if the tuner is nailing your sister.

On the other hand, a driver mod is likely cheaper. Depends on whether you believe you're already the best driver you can be.

1500.00 for about 50whp and more consistent power delivery in all conditions is still bang for the buck champ. That being said on a stock car with flex fuel you can likely get by without the JMS with some fuel system tweaks in the tune. The JMS will be needed if you do more mods. I have tuned several of them...should be able to do E50-E60.

Yeah don't forget the price for the flex fuel sensor and the price to get a bung welded in for your wideband AFR sensor as well as the price for the wideband gauge.

Flex sensor, E85 and tune is THE best bang for the buck PERIOD by a mile. There's no getting around the price of a tune because it's required for just about any mod you do to these cars that's actually going to make any power. The only downside to this path is that you'll get stuck around 630-640whp on E85 with no further room to grow without more fueling which adds a good bit of cost, unless you go with meth which is a poor man's band-aid.

I think you can use secondary cat 02 location for wide band sensor, not 100%. Yah, I can see your guys' point, seems like any mods are big boy money for the zl, lol. Really kicking myself now, I didn't get a warranty because I figured I would have it tuned within a few months doh, learned my lesson there, should've gotten the warranty. Guess I'm selling this drum of e85 then, no point of holding onto it. I rented a truck drove 5 hours and unloaded back at my house, should've checked more into this gah. Anyways, thanks for the info yall, definitely way over my head/out of budget now. Back to cosmetics I guess lmao

Any mod on this car is usually north of $500 usually. On average the cost per mod that I've observed on my own car has seemed to be costing more around $1000.
