You can cut the passive aggressiveness in that letter with a knife. But I agree with S2K+1LE's general attitude towards it. Instead of using the neighbors as leverage, have the balls to approach in a nice, calm manner. Yes, it could be an old person who's not too keen on a direct confrontation, but I'm sure a friendly attitude would go a very long way to not only mitigating any aggressiveness, but actually getting results. And, who knows, a friendship could develop.

I'm fortunate in that I live in an older suburb of Miami with houses built like bunkers. It would have to be a very loud exhaust to bother anyone, and even then, it's so common that no one really cares.

Huh. I will have to try it again on mine. Mine is a 2016 2SS. I don't know if other models behave the same way.

I do the same thing even though nobody has complained. I also drive the posted 25 mph unlike th soccer moms that fly through going 45.

Yeah, mine seems equally loud in all modes for the first couple seconds before the valves close (in tour and snow/ice).

Has already been brought up in another thread. Long story short you're going to have the 'its my property I'll do what I want' crowd, the 'be a courteous neighbor and cold start and drive off in stealth' and the internet tough guys who want to pound their neighbors to dust. Figure out which group you fall into and you'll have your answer on what to do.

LOL well said.

I start mine in stealth to be courteous.

Power up the display by pressing the start button WITHOUT your foot on the brake. So, the dash powers up, but the engine is not started. Then, using the infotainment screen, navigate to your settings and select stealth mode (sorry, cannot remember all of the menu steps).

Then, when you press the brake pedal and start the engine, it will start very quietly. At least that was my experience. VinnAY says his is not like that, so I am going to try mine out again, but I would bet money that it was not loud at all on mine when I did that.

honestly i would do the mature thing and make sure car is in tour mode at all times when you're in your neighborhood.

my neighbors also had came to me once because my car was very loud. i told them i would try to be gentle as possible and not accelerate hard if leaving for work early. (i can understand what they feel because we have this one guy on our block who flies down the street at 2am with his Harley open pips). Luckily they understood and no complaints after that. i apologized and try to keep my car away from their side of the house and go about my way. no need to argue with someone.

hopefully you found the owner of that note and worked something out.

cheers.

All kidding aside, I put mine in Stealth when I get home so as to not deal with BS notes like that.

1. Your car has the factory exhaust and no engine mods. Which means it is within legal noise limits of all national, state, and local noise ordinances.

2. There’s no way to quiet it down.

3. Your neighbors can bite the big one, and in so many words that’s exactly what the police will tell them if they call them.

If the bananas in the tailpipe won’t get the job done, a gentle reply that you’re on the way to help contribute to their underfunded Social Security fund.

I know I appreciate everyone who works and contributes *laughs*
