Leave it stock bro it will be utterly annoying otherwise. If you want more trade it for an ss then add exhaust : )

You should head over to the I4 performance section for opinions on this. I'm afraid the answers here will range from "V8 or die" to "swap on a Honda exhaust"

Gotta love all the shithead SS guys that just don't have anything good to say if its not the V8. I didn't need a V8, I love the way the car looks and could only afford the Turbo, but would like to have better sound, and you can get better sound out of a 4 than stock. The Hooker sounds good and way better than stock.

No one is beating on his car man. He has a nice ride I'm saving him plenty of hate and embarrassment trust me! I work at a performance shop in Houston (well known). It's not about put downs or chest beating, 4cylinder modded cars (excluding golf type r, sti's evo's) are not meant to sound badass or be fast. It in fact sounds like ass in most cases and the car will never have that V8 sound (same with a 6). If you bought your car bc it looks cool great leave it alone and enjoy your ride without hearing the comments that won't typically come.

If I couldn't have bought my car in a V8 I would've just bought something different. Btw my 17 is sold and I have a manual 18 Zl1 and 16 manual Z06.

What If he doesn't want to make it sound like a V8 or a V6 but sound more like a better sounding I4?

Again, you are dead stopped on the V8 or nothing here.

I agree some would go way too far and make it sound like a fart can, but there a good inbetween somewhere.

My advice; if someone asks how to make his I4 sound better and the only answer that comes in your head is "get the V8 or do nothing", maybe it is the right time to not post and move to the next thread. I am saying that to anybody that fits under the hat.

If I could afford a ZL1... I'd still get the I4. I don't need a V8. But I do would like to enhance it slightly, same as OP does.

Thanks for randomly letting us know you own two expensive sports cars that have absolutely nothing to do with this topic.

Also, thanks for saying your not beating up on his car, but then telling him his car is slow.

What a nice feller.

If it were my car, Id go with a flowmaster or borla axle back, then I'd remove some sound insulation from around the turbo and diverter valve for more turbo/blow off noise.
