Designed to dominate on the track with 650 hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque — plus a blazing-fast 0-60 acceleration time of 3.5 seconds1 — Camaro ZL1 delivers. It’s even earned a spot in NHRA star Tanner Gray’s garage as his daily driver."

I know, I know. I'm just bitter.
All - been reading this thread as I'm a newbi to this car and honestly kinda worried now for tracking it as mine is the 2017 ZL1 A10. I've purchased the car to be a daily and to have the ability to road race or drag race but this defin concerns me now. Has there been any software updates / TSB from GM as this rumble strip is nothing compared to what I've been over in tracks in the past - but in other GM cars and zero issues. So any additional info greatly appreciated. (Note: the only thing after watching video, I see maybe why it deployed was the car appeared to jump up while going over rumble strips and kick sideways at same time so maybe the software or sensor thinking the car was going into a roll?) Just my 2 cents.

Well, shoot....I would say....ask GM one more time to cover the fix. Send it certified letter. Be very nice - yet firm. Let them deny the opportunity again. Then report back. Documentation is really important. I would think worst possible they would cover the parts as goodwill.

Don't be worried. Just drive slow, stay off the rumble strips, don't push the car, don't make any mistakes and remember to have fun!

Op, as Matt f suggested write GM a letter. Spell out the fact that you were using the car as intended and the air bag should not have deployed. Having said that you are somewhat responsible for the airbag deploying. The fact that you didn’t rollover is a testament to your driving skills perhaps, but likely attributable is the fact that when the bags deployed it forced you off the gas, you still ended up in the dirt. Whether or not you ended up in the dirt as a result of the airbag or not is what GM is going to rest their case on.
Raytheon was likely brought in to interrogate the airbag system and determine the forces that the accelerometers recorded. If those sensors picked up an excessive roll rate the side airbags are going to deploy. My guess is that they found that’s exactly what happened. They test the shite out of those things and they are ‘usually’ rock solid. In the end they save more lives then they malfunction.
I’m glad you’re not hurt (that would’ve scare the shite outta anybody) and I’m sorry you’re going through this but, getting pissed at GM isn’t gonna get you anywhere. My .02.

Isn't there an airbag fuse that can be pulled?

A final update on all the airbag stuff that happened. Probably a bit late, but whatever.

This is my first vlog, so please be gentle. Also, health warning: This video has been lightly seasoned with some salt and may irritate GM fanbois.

I'm still struggling to see how this is a GM issue. I've hit a few curbs on the track that caused my tire(s) to leave the ground and my airbags didn't go off. How hard you hit that curb surely looks as so what attributed to the car thinking you were crashing. Taking this car to a track is intended use. Smacking a curb that hard is not intended use of the vehicle and while it sucks to have to eat the repair cost I'm sure this is why GM denied your claim.
