Not entirely accurate...the initial bark is loud, no matter what mode you’re in (even Stealth). How loud depends on several factors, including how long the car has been sitting cold since last shutdown, outside air temperature, humidity, etc., but it’s all just a wide range of loud.

Also, I would think starting the car before opening the garage door would amplify the sound even more, since the exhaust sound would reverberate off the door and walls. Cool that you’re trying to be considerate, though.

I take more of a “rip off the bandaid quickly“ approach...open garage door, start engine, and put her in gear and back out as soon as englne is under 1000 RPM and close to idle speed.

Best I can do...Fuse is pulled and none of my neighbors have ever complained.

You need to do a full read (both modules) and you might need to have the latest beta. Also, according to what I’m seeing, some modes are indeed louder on startup. Exhaust Rumble is disabled in some modes. That might not be all that is required to make it quiet though—but it probably helps.

I can take a screenshot when I get home. Why would I lie though? You have to read the second module though, and I can’t remember if that costs extra or not. It definitely works though, because I no longer get the quiet to loud exhaust change when cruising.

Here you go. For Exhaust Rumble a 1 means enabled and 0 means disabled. The 3 windows at the bottom are different performance modes. -1 means the valve will be 100% open and 100 means it will be 100% closed.

This needs to be a sticky post on it's own, not buried beneath 16 pages of inane (but much enjoyed) blather...

That's very interesting. Looks like cool aftermarket software. However, is the Rumble on/off setting for each mode available through the OEM touch screen? It would be cool if it were. I thought I had been through all the menus, but maybe not.

It's under Driving Mode, in Settings, on my 2018... Lets you pick your exhaust mode in any driving mode. I forgot to park mine in Stealth mode to see if it makes a difference, but it shouldn't...

The valves run off engine vacuum if I remember right.

Stealth mode should have the rumble disabled, but this only effects the NPP valve. I think there is still an RPM flare on startup. I honestly haven’t looked into it too much though. Are the non-NPP cars pretty loud on startup too?
