For example, this car would dominate auto-X...and most likely be dominated in a road race. (Drivers being equal)

A monster is anything unexpected that can hang onto my front fender from a dead stop to about 80 mph. The GT 86 (or FR-S), will probably do that and not have an AWD system to kill it's top end past 80. I would be extremely surprised if this car is more than $25K...

A month ago, a friend's Nissan 370Z went missing, on the same night, another friend's Hyundai Tiburon mysteriously disappeared. Mystery Solved!!! Toyota locked the two cars up in a room and this is what came out.

One of these days, when I get access to a nice open taxiway or something, I may give it a shot.

I didn't see a weight listed in there. But if its 2500ish as expeced, thats not too impressive of a power to weight ratio.
I did notice that it makes about 100 hp/L, and its limited torque (150 ft-lbs) peaks very high in its rpm range (6600 rpm). I'd put my money on a V6 Camaro in a straight line -and I don't see anyone calling those monsters. Things change if the curb weight starts to approach a mere 2000 lbs, but I don't see that happening.

It's not a terrible looking car. It looks like alot of other import coupes today though. Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Nissan Altima Coupe, Scion tC, BMW Z4 Coupe, etc. all come to mind.
The only thing I find attractive on the car is the weight (lack of) and the interior. Kudos to Toyota for actually producing this car. It's been a long time since they made something that was remotely exciting.

The Mustang dwarfs this thing.. while still being a 2+2 coupe? People complain about the CAMARO having no room in the back seats.. so what the hell are you supposed to stick in the Toyobaru's back seats? |
