New Tires

Nailed it down to MICHELIN PILOT SPORT 4S

But was thinking going 285/30-20 up front (stock size) but moving to 315/30-20 in the rear. Only makes a 0.7% difference.

Any negatives? should I stay with 305? If I go 315 should I go wider up front?

I fell like the extra 0.4" in the rear can only help.

AND... who and you all use for tires? freaks me out to go to a national tire place with this car.

Happy PS4S user here. 315 width will be fine, but don't expect a drastic traction benefit from that tiny difference between that and the 305. I had to relocate the wiring harness for the 315, but check your driver side rear wheel well, maybe the main body harness is routed differently on newer Camaros.

In fact, the tread width difference between 315 and 305 is only 0.2 inches (5 mm) for the "standard" PS4S, so the contact patch won't be much bigger at 32 psi, only by 3-4%, but then the 315 tire itself is 2 pounds heavier.

Interestingly, there seems to be a Porsche specific version of the 305 that has a much greater tread width (11.6 vs 10.9), you'd be better off just getting that vs the 315 with a tread width of 11.2 inches.

I had a good experience with discount tire mounting some signature wheels on my last ZL1 actually.

The first thing I did when I received my SS was to have the summer only runflats replaced with the Michelin PS AS 4S. I had the Chevy dealer do it since I figured they would have a lot of experience with the wheels.

Mine has a 315/30 on the rear at the moment. Came with that tire when I got the car last June. I don't know if my wiring harness has been moved or not. Never had the wheel off. I probably should check it out- I may have a hole in the liner...

Yes,Discount Tire! But, I’d take wheels off
First ( in your driveway) then take wheels to
Discount Tire for re-mounting, and make sure they
Use TOUCHLESS tire machine!

absolute money tire to get.
I'm deciding between PS4S, or the 4S A/S

Just waiting until April 1st to see if Discount tire
has the $110 instant savings back on next month

Michelin, there is no substitute

yes I will bring the tires/ rims in, not the entire car....

I am anticipating 10K miles and I plan on putting a lot of that on in the next few months. As you can see from my posts I am a "planner" I like to research plenty time ahead maybe sometimes a bit much, but makes me feel better

I prefer the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06+ to the Michelin PS AS. Less money for an equal or better tire IMO.

PS4S is a different story as that is a summer only tire.

I am not putting AS tires on this car. It will sit.

540 AA A Mich AS
560 AA A Conti AS

vs

300 AA A Mich PS4S

vs

220 AA A Goodyear OEM

Huge differences

If all-seasons are not an option, then I agree the PS4S is a much better choice than the stock Goodyears.

PS4S is the only option for a ZL1.

The Farmer chose well.
