Weight reduction for the drag strip

How light are y'all able to get these Camaros down to? And what are you doing to get to that weight? I'm thinking's about putting mine on a diet, I can get it in the 9's in cool weather and fair air, but loose a few tenths when I get hot, thanks for your input

Some of the guys at Camaro Fest had their trunk lids off and duct taped over...

Was one of the more extreme things I've seen..

Passenger seat is a pretty easy pull.

This will get you into the 34xx range:

front/rear seat delete's/ install kirkey race seat
muffler delete
drag wheels
smaller brakes

then you can start going extreme with:

lexan windows
carbon fiber trunk/hood
remove lower bumper cover
a/c delete
pull interior

that will get you down into the 3200lb range.

Running the Forgestar wheels, I haven't thought about the stock muffler, it does look big and heavy, rear seat delete I'm going with, they want me to have a cage, so plus 60 back

Mine weighs 3,443 with a 3/4 tank of gas without me in it. I’ve done the muffler delete, drag pack, Carlyle rear brake kit, front bumper support and crash bar removed, front sway bar removed. Weighs 3,601 with me and 3/4 tank of gas.

I remember that trunkless car. You have to admit that he did a nice tape job! Wonder how much the trunk, with spoiler weighs?

the stock battery is heavy as shit. These light weight lithium batteries weight like 5-8lbs. big savings there but they are pretty expensive. I got rid of a lot of the plastic crap under the car, ditched the front fender wells, back seat delete, front seats are both kirkeys, got rid of all the airbags. Haven't got to weight it yet since I put a cage in it and hung a big turbo off the front.
