All of which are in the mid 45k range and below. Previously I was a 2015 v6 Camaro owner but I decided to ditch it so I may take the next step up the big boy ladder. I hope you guys/girls can help me make a better decision considering that at the moment I am really indecisive about the 3. Below is a small list of things that will not bother me, and a couple of things that may influence my decision.

Influencers
-I will be daily driving this vehicle (4x week)
-Reliability (supercharger)
-Manual transmission
-best bang for the buck
-operating costs/ Maintenance (excludes gas)
-aftermarket performance/parts
-Will be taken to track
-Exhaust note

Not bothered by
-fuel economy
-Depreciation
-suspension
-Small windows

Any ways I hope you can all help me.
Thank You

You mentioned wanting to add aftermarket components and wanting to track the car...why add front end and top CG weight of a supercharger when you can add naturally aspirated power with no weight penalty....?

The 2017 1LE can NOT be beaten in terms of the performance/price bang for buck...

If he was to pick up a 2014-15 1le I believe there would be around $11,000 to spend on some nice aftermarket parts ,matching the price of a 2017 1le . With that to spend he could beat the 2017 1le on the track and have enough left over to take a 3 day program at Ron Fellows .
Going off of his influences I can't see how the 2017 1le can touch a 5th gen 1le or Zl1 .
He should post the same question on the Camaro 5 side to help with his decision.

That ediff and mag ride are magical this generation. Not to take anything away from the Gen 5...but the new 1LE is at least three seconds faster around a track than a gen 5 1LE...and at least as fast as a Gen 5 ZL1.

It will feel infinitely more light on its feet than either of those two, and 11,000 would have to be spent very smartly to make up that time gap.

It's a completely different car in all the best ways. I wasn't completely sold on the looks but seeing a 2017 1LE in person is much better than a picture.

Now my 2014 was a super reliable car so I have my fingers crossed that this one will be just as reliable.

Good luck.
Allsteeler, your red car with red calipers and black accent just looks killer! Congratulations and best of luck with your new car.

The ediff and mag ride may make it easier getting around the track then the gen 5 but what is the replacement cost . Depending on his after market parts more then likely his warranty will go away. My opinion is just based on his influence in decision making.

The 17 1le has already lapped Laguna Seca faster than a gen 5 z28. I would love to know what you would add to a gen 5 1le for 11k that would match that. I don't think it's possible. If it is I'd love to hear it....

Unfortunately most of us don't have the driving experience or track time that Randy Pobst has , those numbers are great for reading ,bragging and selling cars. But ,off of printed pages these cars have to be driven by people that don't track there cars but few times a year at best or if ever.

I am not sure exactly how to spend the 11k to match those numbers but I am sure if you gave that 11k and gen 5 1le you will come out with a car that will beat the gen 6 on a track.

It doesn't really matter who drives what, 6th Gen is simply a better car and it's backed by data. The 7th gen Camaro will be better than our 6th Gen Camaros it's just the reality, let's face it. Chevy really works on these cars to improve them on every generation and even between the model years. Look how the C6 Corvettes improved between 2005 to 2008, and then 2010. They address many issues or improve the overall quality and performance. Same cannot be said for other cars like my old Subaru STIs. After 14 years they still come with the same engine

I think we got away from the topic I do believe the gen5 1le fits in all the OP influences perfectly. With plenty of cash to spare . And I'll keep it to that.

Only reason to get gen 5 would be save 10g.. the gen 6 is a much better car to drive.

Are you speaking from experience? Have you driven both?
