There is only one. Why put anything other than a GM product on your GM car? The Z/28, baby! Looks like it belongs there. No issues whatsoever and in my experience, if you're still under warranty, the dealer tends to look the other way with THEIR product installed. Just my $0.02.

I always say intakes are like shoes. Pick the style you like at the price you want to pay. The performance will be similar across the board. CAI and Rotofab are most popular. Thanks!

I like the looks of the CAI intake. Plus they are pretty popular, with good reason. Not to mention, they leave a little room for creativity

@Moto-Mojo - why put anything other than GM on your car? Because there are better parts out there than ones GM made...

The z/28 intake has hp gains that are at the top of the list...so based on hp numbers only...which is how members buy things ...the GM intake seems to be the best option...its just not sold by sponsors so it gets zero mention.

It depends on what your looking for, and how your going to use your car. OTR, CAI Inc, and ADM with the scoop, are the ones I would recommend.

Reasons for that are their ability to keep IAT's in check. They are sealed, and do not get hot air from under the hood. The Over The Radiator CAI is in my opinion one of the best out there. When I was NA, I ran CAI Inc, with an ADM scoop. I have used the K&N CAI, AIRRAID, and CAI Inc. CAI Inc, was by far the best at managing IAT's. That will help you at the track. But if your going to just DD the car, and really don't care then get whatever you think looks good.

rontammy, I totally agree that it's a great intake, however his statement was "Why put anything other than a GM product on your GM car?"

Lots of reasons, availability, cost, etc, etc, etc. I've got Prothane Subframe bushings on the way because they are an upgrade. Does GM sell upgraded subframe bushings? Not that I'm tracking. Does GM sell ported throttle bodies for my car? Nope. And the list could go on and on and on...

I'm surprised car companies don't.....I usually don't but anything but aftermarket but in the cai case I would.

If your main concern is fine sand then the best solution would be to
wrap the filter with light weight floss filter material as prefilter and change it regularly. I'd suggest a cai type aftermarket system that allows easy access an a visual too! Here in my area we have these cotton wood trees or dog wood trees and they shed tons of cotton like crap in the late spring for 2 months where it looks like a snow storm. I do a prefilter floss on my intake during this time of this seasonal headache. Just use the really cheap furnace filter stuff cut to size and add large zip tie to hold in place after you wrap.

I do not have an intake yet. But i am drawn to the vararam otr. I like the thought of the forced cool air of a otr and no 90 degree bend on the intake pipe like most options.

My second choices are the rotofab and gmpp.
