Launch control and superchargers
Can anyone tell me how they launch after they install a supercharger? What happenes if you use the built in launch control?

I don't have a supercharger but my tuner disabled the launch control software when the car was re-tuned, I'm not sure the brakes could hold the car with the tach over 2000 rpm..

Like Jess said, not going to work well. I'm already at 450 ft.-lbs. of torque at 2500 rpm with a PD SC.

Too much toque for the car to accurately apply it. If the pedal is down, the boost will blow the tires off. Get rubber. Lots of it. I'm on 315 Contis and it's much better but still way to much power for them. A PD blower will necessitate Drag radials if you want to launch.

The last time I tried it I would just bring up the idle until I could hear the engine pushing on the resistance...but my 60 foot times were not great and I was using drag radials. I think I would do better bringing the revvs up some more and possibly hammering the gas just a little before releasing the brake.... but no drag racing for me again until spring 2017.

the speed shop that is installing the supercharger has told me none of the traction control, stabilitrak or launch control will be effected. I'm curious what happens if you put the car in competitive driving mode, mash the brake and stomp on the gas, i.e launch control.

actually what I'm wondering the most is how the heck the z06 corvette and zl1 manages to use all these features if the car "can't" pull enough power with the blower installed.

To be fair, I live in Utah and the warmest temps I've seen since modifying he car have been 70 degrees. It does hook up much better the warmer it gets but there is still going to be plenty of tire spin on the street. The Z06 guys are experiencing much the same, I'm certain. If you read the magazines and reviews, typically the best times are found when not using launch control. It takes lots seat time to be able to get the most out of cars with this much power.

I'm most worried about the safety aspect. I don't want to gun it just a little too much on thw highway and the traction control not stop the wheel spin.

I played around on the stock tires when I got my car back. I put it into competitive mode and tried to keep RPM's slightly below 2500, stayed on flat road so the car didn't roll, and drop the clutch.
I haven't tried it since getting my Forgelines...not about interested in roasting my Pilot Super Sports lol

I have tried it on the street and the track. On the track it was .01 difference from my launch. On the street it did feel better using the onboard launch control

Anyone with an 8A try this? At 2000 rpms, even stock there's probably enough power to override the brakes, but launch control limits that power for optimal acceleration. Would be interested to see how it works with a SC.
