I don't think the SS is becoming obsolete... I don't think they produce enough ZL1's to make it obsolete. I'm very happy with my SS!!!

In all seriousness...I'm glad there are different models. I think that encourages buyers at all financial levels or desire levels, and to me...that improves the Camaro. I'm die hard Camaro...Mustang could be 700HP for 30k and I still wouldn't buy one. I think they are butt arse ugly...well...maybe not butt arse...but they are ugly IMO.

This thread did make me laugh because there was justification going on about "why I bought an SS" or "why I didn't/wouldn't buy a ZL1". This is the sort of thing I've seen many V6r's do...including myself. In the end the debates are fine, but we should still respect a persons choice and be glad they are at least a Camaro owner and not an owner of a stinking mule.

Honestly, I love my v6. It's my year round car and during the winter I put my Blizzaxs on and I absolutely LOOVEEE it. 28-32 mpg highway and 312 horses is a great conversation piece. I looked at the SS and the 400+hp seemed pretty cool and the throaty sound of a v8 is a hell raiser however the v6 is much more practical for a year round driver. Who knows! I might trade up but for now I love it.

My SS is enough. Will start modding in the near future.

So no, the SS will never be obsolete.
Hundreds of thousands? Try 62,596 members. Now if you meant hundreds of thousands camaros then that is something different.

SS will never be obsolete.

Not too concerned about my SS becoming obsolete. The ZL1 is an amazing Camaro, hands down the best technology ever seen in one.

I've modded my SS to "my" specifications and it is plenty fast enough for me. After all it is a street car and in the real world (on the street) think it will hold its own against most. Having said that there will always be someone faster and I'm OK with that too although I would prefer it to be another Camaro.

True, not all SS owners are bad, just some seem to resent the V6 cars for some reason. And I just love hearing the some of same comments that us V6 owners used for why we didn't get a SS for why they are not getting a ZL1. They are all legitimate reasons, I hope they now understand what we were saying back then. But then again some haters will just continue to hate and make assinine comments just to bolster their egos. I know the $8,000 difference between a V6 And SS equipped the same is not as much as $20,000 between the SS and ZL1 it is still hard to justify the difference in prices.

By the way I just made a deal with Becky to trade my 2010 1LT Coupe for a 2012 1LT Convertible, and since I had to pay close to MSRP for my 2010, and the Discounts I got on this one I am actually paying close to the same for it. so I could justify buying this Convertible.
