Apple CarPlay Shortcut
I did a quick search to see if this was mentioned and didn't see anything, but also didn't spend a lot of time. It may also work the same with Android??
When wanting to switch from your current screen to CarPlay, hold the Home button (the house) down for about 1 full second.

Nice will try when I get back in! Pretty nifty.
Another shortcut if your using the regular interface (GM) and your listening to music, swipe to the left with a finger and it will put your cluster in audio mode/display.

If the Home screen is displaying a single screen of info (music, home screen, etc.), a quick click of the Home button will change to music on the left with the phone below it and navigation (built-in) mini-map on the right. From this mini screen, you can tap any of the three areas to get to those respective screens.
A long press of the Home button, regardless of what's on the display, will switch to your connected phone for either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. If you leave the main screen in the three-pane view, and click the Home button while in the Android Auto or CarPlay screen, you will return to the three-pane view. Otherwise, a click of the Home button will return you to the main home screen. |
