Good daily tire that will grip on strip

I'm currently looking for a tire to drive daily but can weekend race on drag strip. I've narrowed it down to the Nitto Nt05 and was wanting feedback for tire size to use on my stock 20" wheels currently using goodyear 275 35 20.

The stock tires have only one drawback, they are loud as hell on the road. A plus is they are run flats. I have had a flat and it got me to my destination for a repair. So the plus out weighs the negatives.

Run flats are not good for track action..as a dd they are pretty good.

You may want to look at Toyo r888 for track days..

You mentioned that you wanted a daily driver. The R888 isn't rated well for wet traction and some NT05 owners mention that the shallow tread is prone to hydroplaning in standing water. You might want to add Michelin Pilot Sport 4S to the list if you're driving in the wet. You could go up to a 285/35R20 on the stock rear wheels to get a bit more tread.

I've been looking into NT05's as well. R888's are amazing, good for high horsepower not the best daily tires. If you are running stock or looking for mild power gains I think the NT05's would be a good upgrade.

We run Nitto NT05s in our Lemons/Chump racer. Great grip once they warm up, although truthfully I don't know if I'd run them in wet conditions.
