I have Speed Engineering on my C7 and no complaints. Great sound and fit plus picked up some ET and MPH. The only thing I did after the purchase and install was replace the 3" exhaust clamps and replaced them with the 4" stainless band clamps. Seals much better then the smaller clamps. They really are a hell of a value, no regrets.

Been running the setup for 30k miles and no complaints except the clamps. If you do a search you will find lots of threads about the product.

walker mega clamps are necessary for their systems.

The difference with headers like SE or OBX is tubing thickness. The cheaper headers use 1.5mm wall tubing and the more expensive headers use 2mm+. The thicker headers will transmit less noises.

I will recommend you insulate the starter with headers wrap. What ever you buy will generate more heat and its hard on starters especially if you daily drive it. You can buy it at about any auto parts store. One mm isn't very much so not sure how much difference there is in noise. Love the way mine sound. The SE x pipe will have another an 02 bung on the drivers side so you can either keep the plug in it or add a wideband gauge which is what most probably do. Your rear 02s will need to be turned off in the tune or you get codes pop up on the dash.

I am on the C6 Corvette forum as I have a C6 GS. This question comes up a good bit and on the C6, the Speed Engineering headers are a mixed bag. Some don't have any problems; others have fitment issues sealing problems.

I learned a while back that even though it is more expensive, go with a name brand such as Kooks or Stainless Works.

Kooks get my vote by far. Always fit perfect and they go the extra miles with what included in their kits.

I don't recommend ARH however. I have owned a couple of sets and have had fitment problems. Also, they skimp on what they include.

I also really like Stainless Works and Pfadt headers. Pfadt headers are beautiful.

I’m looking at the 2” CSP w/4.5” GESI cats. They have a preorder sale on them right now I believe. Not cheap though... (made by Stainless works).

I've heard some Camaros running H Pipes, they sound a hell of a lot better than the X-pipe. Cleaner rumble with less rasp and rev hang.

You hear less ticking with thicker wall headers.

Either way SE headers are out of stock. TSP is the cheapest offering that uses 2mm wall pipe but they are also out of stock with NO ETA.

I talked to Sean at Speed Engineering a few weeks back and he said they've had a hard time keeping up with orders and keeping product in stock. I know this is a big deal with some but 2 inch really isn't needed till your making some big HP, I've always run 1 7/8" and made plenty of power. We all have our opinions on that but thats mine.
