2016 SS A8, 8900 miles. Carfax doesn't show any flushes done to it. I'm not sure if I have it or not. I try and make it do it sometimes, and I feel a slight single bump every once in a while. Definitely doesn't feel like going over rumble strips, so it may be the beginning of the shudder. I am going to have the dealer flush it soon. Hopefully that will stave it off till they come out with a permanent fix.

From what I was told they are not allowed to do the new fluid change unless the shudder symptoms come back again. I had mine flushed in October and took it back to them 2 weeks ago because I knew the new fluid was out, but they wont touch it until the problem occurs again.

Yup, that is exactly what my dealer just told me. It has to appear on the Pico scope or they can not do anything.
Basically, wait until it does enough damage that you can feel it and has done it's damage to the TC and bring it in and we will do a worthless flush that will help nothing.
Also, They also have not received any of the new fluid or the tool required So if I wanted to pay out of my pocket they can't even do it.

Yeah it happens so infrequently they'll likely never get it to happen on a test drive. Damn, well, guess i'll just wait till it gets bad

Don't count on Carfax reporting it. Carfax showed nothing for mine other than basic service. Not satisfied, I contacted a friend who works at a Chevy dealership to look up my VIN and get a full service report. The dealership report showed the previous owner took it in twice for a flush and they replaced the TC the 2nd time. Carfax is worthless on service history.

Just got an update from my Dealer and they told me they can do the flush and put the new fluid in, but its going to be $475...

I have the shudder and scared about not doing the new fluid, which could lead to bigger issues...

Wow, good to know, thanks for the info! Have you had the shudder or did the new TC fix it?

If you are still under the powertrain warranty, then it is covered, no $ out of pocket.

Just got mine flashed with the new fluid last week. Been driving it everyday, no shudder so far. Let see how long it will last...

The "mark of excellence" water mark on the invoice strikes me as in your face and is really a GM feelings thing not function. As a life long GM guy, I can say the current GM rides are littered with issues. I think Mostly from trying to meet the insane mpg and emissions requirements. I'm Sorry for all having the A8 issues. Been there done that GM.

Just noticed your invoice references 20 quarts of the old fluid part number. The newest fluid is 19417577 for quart bottles, and 19417904 if it comes from a 55 gallon drum. If the shudder returns, make sure they flush & refill with the newest formula.

I've had flush 3 Xs 2 torque converters, and now when I use paddle shifters I'm getting a strong burning clutch smell. I'm at my end with this car, wish i would've kept my 5th gen.

I really hope they didn't get the old fluid again.
If that's the case, it will studder again in about 10K miles. This is my 2nd flash.
